Here a spot, there a spot, everywhere a Threadspot. It's FRIDAY! That means we highlight 3 of the sweet spottings emailed to sightings@threadless.com! The spotters have hopefully included their Threadless usernames so I can award them with Street Team Points. Fingers crossed!
![]() Over at Threadbanger, they posted a video showing how to make a picnic-blanket-backpack with your old Threadless shirts! Pretty sweet. I wouldn't recommend using non-Threadless shirts with this. Won't look as cool. *** ![]() How did I miss this?! I gotta say, I love Top Chef, and not only because this season was filmed in Chicago. Here's the spastic but capable Andrew sporting Mourning Girl in a quick shot from the show. Caroline, how did you see this? *** ![]() Ursula & Speedy Joe love their Tim and Eric Awesome Show, so i had to include this one from the Tim & Eric blog! Bryce spotted Communist Party! You know what I say to that? Great job! *** ![]() And lastly, check out the Owners Manual for Pomona College! It's Pandamonium over there! Thanks Jesse for the email. *** FEATURED SHIRTS: ![]() And now as the hour of 5 approaches so must I leave my trusty computer. Off into the real world. Living large. Spotting Threadless shirts.
It's a double dose of Threadspotting! I know everyone was very upset about my absence last week. I received hundreds of angry emails. Much like the angry emails I may get for my rampant sarcasm. Let's go!
As you know, you can send your sightings to ME at sightings@threadless.com. Please include your username and a photo of the spot. I plug them all into Threadlessbot 3000, dump in his required six pack of Blatz malt liquor, and he spits out 3 (or 6) favorites to highlight here! The spotters get STP's, I get a tremendous amount of satisfaction, and TB3000 passes out in a pile of rusty wires for a week. What do we have this week, bot-man? *** ![]() Woohoo! It's Brian getting some serious screen time for Recycle standing behind Barack Obama during a rally in Philadelphia! Great job! Much better than A&F. *** ![]() Elise sent us this screen capture from the newest Chevelle video "Well Enough Alone." The bands sure do love their Flowers In The Attic, and thus, we love them right back. And also we love Elise, of course. *** ![]() Daniel spotted this one! I Listen To Bands... worn by this guy who plays every part of Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart" for our enjoyment and learning benefit. Daniel also quoted a lot of stats for this guy. He's quite the important UK Tuber... and i don't mean he's a potato. *** ![]() I love my records. Even in this digital age, there's nothing more satisfying then gently placing vinyl on a turntable, laying back, and enjoying the gentle fuzzy goodness. Just gives me goosebumps. Anyhooo, look, it's Communist Party in this trailer for I Need That Record! Thanks Peter & Hannes for the scoop. *** ![]() Love the hand-shot photos of bands wearing Threadless. Need more. Want more. Maren saw German band The Handshake Affair and What Makes It Go? Threadless! At least for the keyboardist. *** ![]() And finally! Artur & Drew tipped us off to I Heart Color in a headlining article from Wired.com! *** FEATURED SHIRTS: ![]() ![]() Have a great weekend everybody! Go crazy!
It seems like just last week that we were here before, talking Threadspotting, talking Friday love, doesn't it? Well, as you know, you can send your awesome Threadless sightings to sightings@threadless.com. We sift through the mailbag with a fine tooth comb and extract the exciting tidbits. 3 spots make it here every week and 3 lucky spotters get STP's! I feel good. Do you?
*** It's our main man Aziz wearing Music Snob from Tuesday's Human Giant episode! He got the memo!!! Thank you Nina and Daniel for sending this over! We're thrilled. This is some good old fashioned fun. *** ![]() How do you feel about this new Flickr video business? Apparently they love it so much at the HQ that they could scream... while sporting TWO Threadless tees! Be a Panda and Stir It Up! Thanks Bhoomika for the tip! *** ![]() Alex told us about this Chinese Peaches spot on the designer toy blog Plastic And Plush! Episode 32? Shut up! We're only on Episode 3, but #4 is a real doozy. I don't think you've heard me yell enough. FEATURED SHIRTS: ![]() Have a great weekend. Do it! That's an order!
Hey everybody, it's Friday aka Threadspottingday! One, two, you know what to do.... send your sightings to sightings@threadless.com! Include your username and a photo of the crime. Every Friday, I weed through the spam to find three awesome examples of Threadspotting. I then give out some STP's. It's all good.
*** ![]() Check out cursin' Shakespeare in This blog about 10 things they didn't teach you at school! Ken and Loretta let us know about this one. It's Shakespeare Hates Your Emo Poems, front and center! *** ![]() This is one half of the winning image in the Flying Dog Brewery photo contest! The photo is "The Last Call", get it? And check out Infinity MPG. Thanks for the spot, T *** ![]() And lastly but not leastly, look at these happy Spoilt campers from the front page of GreatUrbanRace.com! Thanks Maria for the heads up. There's another Urban Race (Urban Dare) that's happening soon in Chicago and we were maybe going to get some teams in there for one reason or another... has anyone taken part in these? Are they competing "companies?" Am i out of the urban race loop? FEATURED SHIRTS: ![]() And with that, I say, have a great weekend. You've earned it.
Threadspotting, rising like a phoenix over your hectic work week signaling the always welcome Friday. Ahh. It feels good. As soon as I post this, i'm going to play some ping pong. I'm going to kick Craig Shimala's arse all over the table! (and then afterwards, i'll play him in ping pong)
As you know, you can send your sightings to sightings@threadless.com! Include a picture and for pete's sake, include your username. You want STP's right? We'll highlight 3 here every Friday and the spotters get the points! Ready, steady, go. **** ![]() So you're just cruising along enjoying the new Thermals video for "Returning To The Fold" and BAM at 2:18, why it's a little kid in an out of control shopping cart wearing Pillow Fight! Hooray for Threadless Kids! Hooray for The Thermals and hooray for Mo for pointing this out to us! *** ![]() The Food Network really loves us. We may have given Ace Of Cakes' Mary Alice an honorary bestee and George Duran sports us all of the time as well but look at this... even if the host of the show doesn't represent, we can count on some quality camera time from the public! Awesome! This spot of Fish Tank was sent to us by Christian and it's from Diners Drive-Ins and Dives! Loves it. *** ![]() Best week ever for Karen, Andrea, Nina, Elise, and Shibby! They all alerted us to Sherrod Small wearing No Arms McSneakers on VH1's Best Week Ever! You did it! FEATURED SHIRTS: ![]() Get ready Shimala.
What a grand and glorious day! It's Spring yet it's SNOWING in Chicago. What have we done to anger you, mother nature? Will Threadspotting help? We can only hope...
Send your gosh darn sightings to sightings@threadless.com, include a picture, and include your username! Please! Every Friday, we get crazy generous and pass out STP's for three highlighted sightings. Say "three highlighted sightings" 5 times fast before you dive in... **** ![]() Jason, Christian, Liz, and Kirsten (hey that rhymes) all emailed about Damn Scientists showing up for the second week in a row! This time on Letterman. A contestant for "What's in The Soup?" Love it. Soup sounds good on such a blustery day. **** ![]() Daniel let us know about this one! Bluejuice is known for provocative album covers but they went all out with this one for the single "Vitriol!" Why it's the mostly misunderstood Good Luck right there! **** ![]() Steve found this one on the People Of The Web section of Yahoo News. It's Matt Flannery, CEO of Kiva.org proudly wearing Rocketbird! **** FEATURED SHIRTS: ![]() Woohoo! Have a great weekend everyone! I'm off to build that yearly Spring Snowman.
Hey party people! It's Friday and that means Threadspotting. "Thank God It's Threadspotting" you could say, if you like. Friday sure is great but I have a feeling you'll like Monday even better. You're gonna be feeling lucky and the fact that it lands on St. Patrick's Day is mere coincidence. You think you know but you only know the half! Mwahahahahaha!
So yes, send your sightings to sightings@threadless.com! Include a photo and your username and we may just choose your spot to highlight here... and then give you STP's. You know all of this, right? ![]() Firstly, gotta give props to Ursula for spotting Inside You on awesome photography site Everyone is Famous. I'd give here STP's but she already enjoys the five finger discount as an employee. Zing! **** ![]() Thought this was pretty awesome! Thanks Anna for sending this in! It's proof that colleges are now using Threadless tees (in this case, Jellyballoons, second from right) to recruit kids! Might be a good idea to give the shirt a little more frame space, though. Next time, ok? **** ![]() Casey, Hanna, and Gena all emailed about Damn Scientists making an appearance in the ABC Family show Greek. I have no idea what this show is about and at least one of the Threadspotters was apologetic for even watching it. What do you think? Any good? *** ![]() I don't need anyone to tell me how good Thai food is, though. Believe me. I know! Look at that juicy clove of garlic being grated! And look at the shirt! We Can Fix It! Kim spotted this on the food blog The Food In My Beard. Sounds gross but i'm all about learning new recipes so i'll be keepin my eye on that there blog. Hold the beard, please. FEATURED SHIRTS! ![]() This is how we do it! Would it be weird to say "Peace Out?" Because I kinda want to say "Peace Out."
Hey hey everybody! It's time for everyone's favorite Friday afternoon hootenanny we like to call Threadspottin'. Here's the big dill pickle: Just send an email to sightings@threadless.com, tell me what you've seen & where you've seen it, attach a picture, tell me your username and there you have it! Every week, we'll choose 3 to highlight and we will distribute Street Team Points to you in adoration. It's been a great week! Let's start, shall we?
*** ![]() It's up and coming NYC band Apes & Androids! This pic was on the Noah Kalina blog and it's fan favorite Caged, in it's green version. Also altered for comfort, i notice. Truth be told, I've seen pictures of A&A sporting Caged before! I was just waiting for the right moment. Hannes and Darae made that moment NOW! *** ![]() When your kid isn't college bound... is it really so bad? This article showed up on MSNBC and brought to our attention by Rachel! The slacker in picture is sporting U R My Heroine! Two weeks in a row on that one. Sweet. Sweet sweet heroine. *** ![]() Wow, another reject from What Not To Wear. How dare they dis Refigerator Running! I love that shirt! Thanks, Leslie, for bringing this travesty to our attention and for your outrage. Leslie wrote "One week the host from Ten Years Younger is wearing a Threadless and the following week the WntW hosts are throwing them away. Those b****es, Stacey and Clinton mocked the shirt stating that the refrigerator was running and she (the poor fashion victim) better go catch her shirt. Then into the trash bin it went, GASP!" They will be getting an angry letter from my congressperson, Charles Festa. *** How friggin excited are you for the Bestees next week? Wow, we've been doing so much work on it, you wouldn't even believe it. I just can't wait. Hasta la vista!
Yes, you can get Street Team Points! All you need to do is send your Threadless spottings (aka Threadspottings) to this handy email: sightings@threadless.com and include your username! Every Friday, we pick 3 and highlight them here! I then try and make snarky or questioning comments about each, noting where the spotting came from, linking to the featured shirt, and generally ending with a "woohoo!" The spotter then gets a special delivery of STPs! It's a pretty standard procedure but holy cow, it's fun.
This is how we do it! ***** ![]() Gabriela sent us this image from Canadian Idol Season 5! It's contestant Liam Styles Chang wearing Camouflage! Sadly though, he was cut before the top 10. I find those talent contests to be fixed, to be honest. Do you know that on Top Chef, for example, the judges consult with Bravo (the network) to discuss their elimination choices? It's right there in the credits! I've got two letters for that. B and S. ***** ![]() Keeping it real on the non-US television tip, Alice sent this one in from an Australian quiz show. Of course, that is Mourning Girl! Wow, check out the clip as a string quartet plays "Sabotage." **** ![]() And lastly, we move into the world of print media with this one. Geoff sent this one in of Greensboro's Farewell from the March 2008 issue of Alternative Press! Can you see it? It's U R My HEROine! Woohoo! So many great things on the horizon and so little I can actually divulge... Oh well. Let's just say March is going to be a great Threadless month. Bring it on.
Spotting Threadless shirts gets you STP's! Just send an email with a pic and your username to sightings@threadless.com! Find some good ones and check the archives for duplicates! Every week we'll choose three unique ones to highlight right here. Lovin' it.
Wow, so many good ones were emailed in this week. You've really outdone yourselves, spotters. Last week we went with the big obvious... so this week we've chosen ones that only garnered one email. Here we go! *** ![]() Oana sent an email about this Romanian advert for everyone's favorite satisfying candy bar. The fella on the right keeping the business folks so rapt in attention is clearly wearing Rock Out With Your Cock Out. Also, i'm only guessing it's Romanian because the email address on the advert ends in "ro" and i've done some research into that featured language. skinnyCorp also personally sent me to Romania to investigate. I love all of this extra sleuth work... but the jet lag is killer. *** ![]() Motion City Soundtrack is awesome. And now so is the director of their newest video. Lauren Simpson is wearing Marshmallow Factory in this screenshot from an MTVU behind the scenes video. Thanks Abby for the heads up! Good to see the Factory getting some love. *** Here's a screenshot from TLC's "10 Years Younger," another boring old makover show. Or is it awesome? I dunno. The Emergence of the Easter Egg is pretty awesome, though and that's what the host (?) is sporting there on the right. Thanks tritone for the email! I'm oddly excited that next Friday is the rarest day in the Gregorian Calendar. Maybe i should make it a theme Threadspotting. Oh well, gotta jump. Bye! |
Please send your sightings to sightings@threadless.com.
Every Friday, we'll pick three to highlight in Threadspotting! Every couple of days Charlie cooks up a new show from the comfort of his Airstream. Listen to the latest:
