you may or may not have seen my latest sub for the blik contest here, but a couple of issues came up with the design. mainly that the cityscape was shoddy, and i agree.

so i wanted to run this revision past everyone before i actually spend any more time on it. i don't have time to waste really if i don't think it's going to help. so, is this an improvement?

you get the idea. replacing the city for text (the title), but then i have to think about things like "has it now lost the really-big-domozilla feel to it?" and "maybe i should add feet after all" and "hmmm, not feeling the flying saucers anymore..." and it all gets a bit confusing.

which is why i want as much input as possible. mainly on whether it's going to make a big difference to everyone if i make any of these changes, but talk about whatever anyway :P

since it came up on my latest sub, i was wondering how many people rate on the tshirt colour as well as the design?

on every sub you see, there are people who say stuff like "i would $5 if it wasn't on white" or "i don't wear pink, but if i did..."

does the shirt colour effect your rating, or do you score on the design and assume threadless will fix any unpopular choices? i would like to think so...

as a colourblinder myself, i wouldn't have been able to read this had it not also been in the title to give me a hint. awesome! i wonder if it was researched to be like that or just a fluke. either way, very nice job!

Ok, as of now, you have one hour to recommend me music for a friend. I'm at a loss what to get her for a present, and she loves her music.

her biggest love is Deftones, but generally anything metalish. she is also starting to get into Drum and Bass as well as Hip Hop, so any random cross-over type bands would be fantastic! i recently lent her my copy of Chronic Future and she really liked that too.

less mainstream is better, but not so much that i can't find it. there's no point suggesting bands like SOAD for example, because i want to give her something fresh.

feel free to recommend more after the hour by the way, i'll still look them up, but more for me than her ;)

since Anath has mentioned the site a couple of times in his blog posts on AG, i was wondering how many of the members here in the blog forum noticed, or read webcomics regularly?

personally, i've been reading Applegeeks from when it was but a few issues old and was an active member of the forum for the first year, and although i prefered the less serious style (not a criticism, just an observation) i'm still a big fan.

i also regularly read Ctrl-Alt-Del and keep up to date with VG Cats, even if it is ever so slightly immature ;)

i have been known to read others, but those would be the main ones.

meh. can't believe i'm getting addicted to Threadless again already. i'll be submitting again soon no doubt...

can we get a search function added to the blogs too? it's amazingly annoying to see the same question asked three times in one day in three new topics, especially when people take the time to answer and then no one reads it.

it would also help keep the "OMFG I LOVE THIS TEEE!!! REPREINT PLZ!!!11one" posts about current designs limited, since people can search for current blogs about the tees. i know you can see the blogs on the design page, but i don't think many people actually do.

How To Make A Pulp Indie Tee:

http://www.threadless.com/profile/95455/Jaycee/2580/How_To_Make_A_Pulp_Indie_Tee?utm_medium=feed&utm_source=rss&utm_campaign=blog

To make your pulp-indie tee design, you will need:

x1 Gun
x1 Girl in small skirt or less clothing
x1 Man in suite
x1 Corvette/old looking american car
x1 Blood splatter
x1 IFC logo

How to assemble:

take your blood splatter and apply liberally all over the tee in red, usually around the chest area as a background for the rest of the images.

position your two people probably next to each other on the right (as you're looking at it) with the gun in the mans hand, and then arrange the car on the opposite side, as if it had just gone off a jump or ramp. arrange the IFC logo underneath, possibly at a slightly skewed angle.

Note: be careful not to use more than red, black and white in your design or it will be considered too "original".

recommended tee colours are red and black, although dark grey is acceptable undet certain circumstances.
