I've got a baby in my yard who's learning to fly, but unfortunately has got himself lower down than he's able to fly up! he's sitting in a low bush at the moment calling for mom and dad and i'm worried he's exposed and not going to be able to get himself back up to the nest. is there anything i can do to help, be it as simple as food and water near him (i don't want to touch him) or am i just going to have to let nature take it's course and have a little cry later?

it seems there's a good few dodgy Loves Photography designs in the running which might be crowding out the good ones....
So i thought it might be a nice idea to post up OTHER PEOPLE'S subs from the challenge that you think need to be elevated out of the mire!

NOTE: THIS IS NOT A PLACE TO PROMOTE YOUR OWN DESIGNS

So, i haven't scored anything close to all of them but this is one of my favs so far - it's unique amongst the rest and i love the extra character additions

so i have this photo i took in india of some graffit which i was thinking of subbing for the loves photography challenge. BUT, firstly there are aspects design and photo wise that i don't like, and secondly i'm not 100% comfortable with subbing a photo of someone elses work - feels a bit like people who take photos of banksy and sell them on shirts. it's pretty simple piece actually, more a strong concept than decent artwork and certainly not hardcore multi colour graffiti thats pretty to look at which is why i'm not convinced it would on a shirt as it is, but thats not the point.

i would really like to turn it into a shirt design though in it's own right, but i'm not certain where the lines are drawn for this. I'd obviously not just be copying what was on the wall and putting it up (i might as well use the photo in that case), but reworking it completely and just using it as inspiration and the concept basis for my own design.
is that fair though? it seems such a grey area? at what point does inspiration cross over into theft?

i was hoping for some advice on this as i don't want to get it wrong.

I have a photo i took in India of some wall art which I was thinking of using for the loves photo challenge. It's pretty simple graffiti, more like a poster than anything, but the concept is really great which is why i took the photo and why i was looking at using it.

thing is, there are aspects of it i really don't like design wise and photo wise so i was also thinking of just redoing it completely as a design for a regular sub - what I've started working on is similar in style but with changes to layout and a little to the wording, but really keeping the original solid concept.
do you see where i'm going with this?

I would almost feel a bit weird subbing it as a photo sub because it feels a little like someone elses work, but then reworking it and subbing it as a design, feels a little weird too because it's someone elses idea....

basically, the question I'm asking is am i stealing if i go forward with this in either direction?

this might be a bit cheeky but i was hoping to have a bit of a yak about other shirt sites. I pretty much submit solely to threadless because i know it and i like it and i'm too lazy to try get involved elsewhere, but i'm sitting on a few designs that are either past their 90 days or i just don't think would do well here and I don't know where to begin.
the only other site i've even vaguely dabbled in is Design By Humans and without much success at all but I'd like to change that. I know a good few people on here are successful elsewhere - i hear DBH and woot come up a lot but it all feels a bit like unchartered territory and I'm a little hesitant to get my feet wet.

so I'd like to hear a bit about what other sites you've used, what you think of them and what you'd reccommend? Are you more successful elsewhere than here and if so why do you think that is - is it your style, is it your presence or are you just damn awesome everywhere!

WIP:

I've made some minor changes to the background and the clouds, next question is yellow or not yellow?

not yellow

yellow

I took this photo just outside Yosemite National Park on our road trip last year.
I can't take credit for the clever graffiti obviously, but I love the sentiment and when the threadless loves photography challenge came up I wanted to try do something with it. I've had to muck about with it a LOT to try get it to blend into the shirt with varying degrees of success - if there's anyhting that really stands out awkwardly, please point it out! at the moment it's just a white halftone on black.

thoughts so far?

OLD:
