Hey..... I'm very impressed at how COOL the slogan loving people are out there in this threadless world. Not sure if this will work but here is my idea for a fun game....

Like a baseball game in which the entire TEAM puts themself in a position to win by loading the bases in the 9th inning. One player then steps up and knocks one out of the park and wins it. He/she then gets all the glory from the media as the hero post game but the team in the dugout can take pride because it was a GROUP EFFORT. So, let's get our team to win by setting one person up with a winning slogan.

So how about someone throws out TWO meatball slogan TOPICs like exercise-- politics-- smoking-- music... whatever. Heck in the end the topic could be a gravy boat for all I care. Then someone throws out a slogan. If it can be tweaked for the better-- that person takes over as the owner of the slogan even though they might not have started it. And then another person can make it even better... and so on. We'll then vote as a group at say 4:00pm EST and THAT person now owns the final slogan then gets to post if for the general threadless lurkers to vote on. Maybe it'll do good and become a T-- maybe it'll do bad and get 7%. But it's a group effort. And that is part of the fun.

Maybe this will take off and next week we can do five Topics and so on. Some of the rules I haven't figured out yet but we can't get hung up on the details since this is just a fun Friday game.

So-- someone throw a meatball.. then someone take a swing!!
Batter up!

18 years in row I've cut a hole in the ice on news years day and jumped into a lake near my home. Not really sure why either. Started as 2 of us -- has been as high as 24 jumpers. Yesterday we only had 7 take the dip. Temp was 11 and the windchill made it feel like -22.

Ever Polar Bear or am I just an idiot that needs to stop this tradition?

Not sure if this is proper to ask but are my slogans really that bad? They usually start off doing OK but then take a downwards turn as the day goes by. Never seem to get over 30 votes either. Can yah help me figure this out.

Do you like Fake Christmas trees or Real Christmas Trees?

Each hold special meaning to me. My grandmother had one of those Charlie Brown Silver Foil trees when I was a kid. That was kinda neat. Yet I can also recall my mother being ill and in the hospital one year so we didn't put up the tree until Christmas Eve. When my Dad went to the store, there was no one around so he just dragged the tree outta the place and took it down the road to our home. 60 minutes later, two dudes knocked at our door and demanded $15.00. They had followed the marks in the fresh snow and found out where we lived Guess they were the Ba-Hum-Bug dudes!

Back in the late 70's or maybe the early 80's--- shirts with SNAPS for buttons were popular. I recall once walked into the changing room in my middle school to get ready for gym. I thought I had a snap shirt on. I pulled at the shirt expecting it to open up in one swiff motion . Instead, every "button" on my shirt flew out across the locker room. That snap shirt was still at home. I ended up having to wear my shirt open the rest of the day sans a T- shirt. Exposed chest--- winter time--- Awkward!!! Think I actually used some masking tape to close it back up a little bit but --- that was pretty bad. Anyhoo--- post those school experiences here.

Friends are important right? You have your kids who grew up near you friends, the kids you went to school with friends, college friends, neighbor friends and even work friends. Your spouce should "hopefully" be your best friend (it is with me) but what defines a GOOD Friend? I have people in my life that I'm friendly with but are these my friends? I'm thinking in the end it might simply be people who can put up with me.

Each year I had been decorating my house for Halloween by adding a few more things to a single display. This year some nice new neighbors moved in across the street and they too enjoyed decorating for the 31st. We combined our decorations and came up with the idea of making a spooky walk along my drive way. We used police tape to map out a safe course that went down my 70 foot driveway, turn around at the end and then zig zag down my side lawn ending back out near the street. Along the way we had 8 different scary scenes and as many as 11 different spooky "actors" working into the whole thing ready to scare trick or treators who were up for the tour.

The whole thing worked out great and we had over 150 kids go through. Next year I want to do the same thing but would like to change it up a bit using the same area. To give you an idea, this year we had an evil clown tour the groups (5 or 6 at a time) from our haunted starting tent past a haunted camping scene, a grave yard scene, a witch scene, a hanging guy scene, a haunted Christmas scene, a Zombie scene and finally another clown/ monster combo. If you've ever been to a walk like this___ I could use some new ideas so next year it'll be different for the Trick Or Treators.

Thanks for your suggestions.
