just thought I'd share my design process for my latest sub.<br />
<br />
Here is the final look of it:<br />

First I wanted to create kind of a big mess of colorfull roads. I made them in 3D studio max. Below is the wireframe of it:<br />

<br />
The furry stuff in the middle was made with a hair and fur modifier applied to a sphere.<br />
<br />
Than I wanted to have branches comming out of this mess. But I wanted branches with a random look to them. So coded a script in flash that  generates random branches. It decides where the branch grows and where it splits. Once it decides that the branch is long enough, it grows a leaf at the end.<br />

I made two different styles for the branches. The ones at the bottom are the ones that didn't survive the mayhem in the center. The ones at the top are the happy little branches that survived the chaos.<br />
<br />
The box blue birds represent the way we sometime look at nature. A product we can buy and dispose at will.<br />
<br />
