It's about that time of year when people start wheeling out their lists of favourite albums from the year in an attempt to appear vaguely with it and I'm no exception. Except this year I'll be illustrating all of my favourites throughout the course of this week.

In addition I'm going to have a competition. If you leave a comment on my proper blog (not here) telling me your favourite album of 2011 you will be automatically entered into a lucky dip. The winner of will receive their very own cack-handed black and white illustration of their favourite album by me.

This video has been doing the rounds today but oh my it's so good. I think it's actually the best thing I've seen in about three years - perhaps ever. That encompasses all art, illustration, animation, film, girls, boobs, sunsets, EVERYTHING. It's what eyes are made for.

I saw a Stacey Rozich exhibition in SF this summer - her work is stunning.

I think mine would have to be Kurt Vile's 'Smoke Ring for my Halo'. It's not instant - very much a slow-burner and not exactly ground breaking but it's a fantastic record all the same. I got to see him in Oakland as well supporting Thruston Moore in July - amazing gig.

Other notable mentions to Fucked Up, Will Oldham and Fleet Foxes.
I'm taking a break from Threadless for a bit to concentrate on doing some painting and making prints and zines etc so won't be subbing until 2012. Heart-breaking I know - be strong people.

I'm having some teething problems with Society 6 - help!

I want to upload some artwork to accompany a forthcoming Threadless tee however the image is only 200dpi and 40cm x50cm. Usually when I work I do a Vector clean-up at the end for print etc but in this instance the image I sent to Threadless wasn't vectorised as I didn't have access to Illustrator at the time. Whilst I'm confident the artwork will be clean enough for a tee shirt I'm not convinced it'll hold up to be printed larger scale for a giclee print.

I've just tried cleaning it up for Society 6 but it loses some of it's charm in doing so and I'm also aware it'll be ever-so-slightly different from the Threadless artwork which could be misleading for people.

Any ideas what I should do? Can you limit the size of print available on Society 6? And what kind of size is suitable for artwork on Society 6 that isn't vectorised - I'm pretty sure 200 dpi isn't enough...

Any ideas? I'm such a control freak I'm tempted to just not do Society 6 but I know a few people that want the artwork as a print.
