The chain of stores I work for has it's own organization. Each store keeps the money locally, currently we're raising money for the food bank. As a cashier I am to ask every customer if they'd like to make the $2 donation. They can also choose to put our money, we have our own money, into the drop box currently labelled "Food Bank."

A spinster comes to my cash this afternoon, she looked familiar negatively, but couldn't remember why. After I ask her she replies: "I certainly will not." "They can go out and get a job" to which I tell her that's fine I'm required to ask everyone. By then she starts talking to the couple in line behind her telling them that he should support her and his kids and that's it. He replied that "it's getting to be too much *looks at me* I know it's not your fault *laughs* "I guess you know my answer."

By now the spinster repeats that she wouldn't give the food bank any money, that they should get jobs, and breaks into partially formed rants "Do you see them? They have piercings. And tattoos." I forget what else, but her finale was: "They should just keep their legs closed and get a job."

I could have pointed out scenarios but that was my fourth customer outburst today and I still had 2 more hours to be shit on by unhappy people so I just got rid of her. I also did not ask the couple behind her and got rid of them as well.

Cashiers don't like asking. Most reply rudely, simply say "Yes" or "No Thank You" in a polite tone. Don't ask us to repeat ourself then cut us off after 3 words. Don't explain to us why you aren't, because we've already heard it and don't care. We also know when you're lying and that just makes you more annoying.

I have avoided such doings as I have not read the comics, except the the Spiderman incident, the audience turned on me. Anyway the two co workers I spent the majority of yesterday's shift with enjoy these such movies and I'm considering looking into them.

Lori reminded me of the other blog I wanted to do.

Yesterday afternoon I thought I'd turn on the tv and figure out what channels we have, while doing that I stumbled across an old The Joy Of Painting.

I used to watch it in high school on the weekend, if I wasn't working, and every time I thought the picture looked done he'd throw something on it and I thought for sure he'd ruined it, but he never did.

Ever watch the show?
