Grandpa Cassette t-shirt making a special appearance in a blog entry about Great-Grandpa Phonograph.

Who else has noticed the growing number of tees featuring phonographs brought into present-day situations?
Well, I have.
Here are three I remember.

Why is this, d'you think? Everyone likes music, I guess, so that's a common ground that everyone can recognize and enjoy. And then there's the irony you get when you have a familiar object in unfamiliar, or unlikely, circumstances. And I'll even venture to say in today's global climate (which in my opinion kinda sucks), people gravitate towards the nostalgia of times past, before they or their parents were even born, when you could just sit down with your friend and put on a really dope record, and that would be enough to make your day pretty good.

Whatever. I think all these shirts are pretty cool.

So, I think Grandpa Cassette should get honorable mention. Because although they're not quite so olde as a phonograph record, cassette tapes are definitely starting to express a certain antiquated charm, especially with 20-somethings who grew up in the 80's and early 90's. (See I Love the (Eighteen) 80's.) Plus the guy modeling it in the picture has a mustache and a fedora, so that counts for something.
