Since Chelly started the 'Firsts' contest, it got me to glance at some of my early designs here, which was only a year ago. And all I could think of was how awesome I thought it was when I originally made it, but now, I say

My Visit to the Chicago meetup at HQ!

I just want to say thanks to everyone involved in my short visit to Chicago this weekend.

To my brother for driving me at 5:45am saturday to catch a megabus to chicago from detroit.

To the awesome girl on the Brown Line who gave me her umbrella because it was pouring rain out on my way to Threadless and she lived a short way from the stop. It saved me during the record rainfall, as I brought shitty directions and walked a long way before finding HQ.

To Ginette and Julia for being the first recognizable faces that I got to talk to.

To Evan and Lori for allowing me to pretend to be wanderingbert.

To Bob and Kristen and Craig for sharing their grape juice and cold leftover pizza with me.

To Bob and Kristen again for losing to me at ping pong 3 games in a row with my awesome partner Carlie. (And my illegal serves)

To all the designers and bloggers I met. It was a blast.

To all of the staff I met, you were all insanely kind.

To my 2nd cousin for letting me crash on her couch in exhaustion.

Again to the girl who gave me the umbrella, because early sunday morning in the pouring rain my bus was 45 minutes late. I shared the umbrella with 3 people who didn't have one, so your generosity went far beyond me.

Do you separate papers and plastics? Do you have the little numbers within triangles on the glass and plastic bottles?

Are UV inks translucent over other colors?

Does UV ink print semi-clear so that you can print it over other colors letting those colors continue to show and then in the sun... WHAM-O!, or is it actually a solid gray tone that goes opaque over everything?

My Loves Drawing Subs! - EXPLANATION

UPDATE
Now that they are up for voting, there is some attention being brought up that there are too many subs. And while yes, there might be too many, I would like to explain that when we started the project I told them that the individual drawings would be subbed separately and wanted to stand by that, even if I didn't think they had a chance at winning.

It was the principal of standing by what I told the group.

So vote as you will, I don't expect 3.0's, or even 2.0's. I don't expect anything in fact. I learned something already, and that is enough for me.
