Threadless Community,

I know none of you know me well at all, but this is for a most important cause, so please read!!

It's that time of year again ... The Lustgarten Foundation Pancreatic Cancer Walk ...... July 29, 2007.

Here are the basics:

One of by bestest friends, Marie, lost her father to Pancreatic Cancer so now we walk and raise money every year with the hope that one year we'll no long have to. The best weapon for a cure is research - research takes money - and raising money takes caring people like you.

We would love to have you walk with us, but if you can't make it, even a $1 dollar donation from everyone would make a huge difference. Last year we raised almost $3000 and much of that came from small donations... so PLEASE help in ANY way you can!!

You can donate directly through our team's website. My link is:
http://www.lustgartencommunity.org/NETCOMMUNITY/Page.aspx?&pid=233&srcid=234&frsid=1167

Thank you so much!
Adina

More Info on Pancreatic Cancer from Marie:
As you may know, my family and I have been deeply affected by pancreatic cancer. It broke our hearts when my dad died a little over four years ago from pancreatic cancer. However, did you know that the five-year survival rate for pancreatic cancer is LESS than FIVE percent – a fact that has NOT changed in 30 years despite improved survival rates for many other cancers????

My family and I wanted to know how this could happen. We learned that research is our best weapon in the fight against pancreatic cancer. We also learned that research follows dollars, and for too long, funding for pancreatic cancer research was virtually NONEXISTENT.

The time has come to ensure that pancreatic cancer patients have a fighting chance. Please please please help us help other families. If I can do anything ... I want to prevent others from the heartbreaking reality that has affected my family.

Last year YOU - My wonderful friends and family- raised just under $3,000 for research. Our aim is to break that amazing collection amount this year! Please join us in our walk!!! It's amazing to see how many people come out and support this ---- and amazing to see how much money we all raise towards this worthy cause! It would be amazing if you came!

If you cannot make it that day, please please please consider contributing to this very worthy cause! It would truly mean so much to me and us ... and also to those whom this research will potentially help!

My family and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support always. It really means so much to us.

Love,

Okay... so... I've been on this site forever but aside from a few scoring and random blog posts here and there, I've been pretty quiet. When I first joined, it wasn't even that much of a community... at least I don't think.

Anyway, one day I woke up and thought to myself, "Ya know... you could be friends with some pretty awesome people by now if you'd been more involved over the past five years (Okay, so five years isn't really forever, but it kinda feels like it so shoosh.)

So, here I am. Finally stepping up (to the plate), out (of my solitude), and in to the community that is Threadless.

I've never done graphic design and I have yet to tread the (intimidating) waters of t-shirt design, but my second major undergrad was art and it's something that's always been a pretty big part of my life in one way or another.

If you've read all this so far, I thank you for sticking with me. I know I can ramble on and on sometimes. So, with that said...

I look forward to meeting and getting to know you all. Don't be strangers... I'm nice and I like company. :-D

I know it was mentioned in another blog, but I felt this was an important enough issue to deserve its very own blog. I think this design *needs* to be on a hoodie! Aside from the fact that I get sad when I have to cover up my Threadless t's in the winter, a picture of a car stuck in snow based on a Christmas jingle spoof just neeeeeds to be on a cozy sweatshirt! Please, please, please! I know you're all busy organizing this fantastic 30-day sale for us, but if it's not too too difficult couldn't you just add this design as a hoodie, too? Pleeeaaase??? :-D :-D
