Has anybody tried a SanBitter?

I was at `ino in the upper west side today, ordered a panini, and felt adventurous.. So I decided to try a random drink without knowing what it was. I picked the SanBitter, knowing it was made by San Pellegrino, I bought it for $1.50.

It came in an old fashioned glass (i believe), the liquid had a dark red transparent color.

My first sip (flavor described in a few stages)
1) no flavor..
2) hmm, kinda sugary
3) JESUS, bitternessss. its bitter.
4) horrible after taste.

This thing tastes worst than my worst alcoholic connoction, which was basically a 1-800-fuk-me-up with like 20 other liquids.
