If you look through my past submissions you'll see I've experimented with a wide variety of techniques for trying to work within threadless' color limitations.

I've tried freehand, pen tool, draw/scan/color, draw/color/scan, illustrator, photoshop, painter. I've tried everything I can think of. I'm missing some fundamental component that I can't kin.

That's my original digital illustration for this concept.

I'm looking for work. Ideally I'd like to get a job in digital illustration, traditional illustration, design, etc.

I've been reviewing resources and job hunting sites all day and working on my resume.

I figured I should try to make use of the experience and expertise here.

Does anyone have any leads in the Boston, MA area?

Does anyone know of any reliable sites for hunting for such jobs?

Does anyone have any reliable resources for freelancing?
:-) Thanks.

With all the illustrators, artists and know how on this site I figured it would be a good place to look.

A friend of mine has been scripting a comic book (not strip style, actual marvel/dc/darkhorse/image/ect style books). I've been working on character compositions and cover ideas.

We're trying to find panel artists.

It also wouldn't hurt if we could find inkers, letterers and colonists but we can handle that if needed.

I'm wondering if anyone around here has that kind of skill or knows a site/community/forum (besides craigslist) where we could likely find one.

Any direction anyone could give would be most appreciated.

(just FYI: He's the primary visionary for this project so he will be contacting people and making the decisions of who to harass about this. I'm just trying to find options. if you have any direct questions hit me at grypes[at]gmail[dot]com)

The Threadless Mix CD Exchange Program 2: The Revenge of the 80 Minute Musical Storms

List Closed

The theme this round is: The soundtrack to my current life!. This way there is a still a loose boundary but you're still picking songs that you CURRENTLY relate to instead of just picking things to fit the story.

All mailing lists have been sent out!
I used a much more comprehensive system this round. It should be infinitely easier to track people.

No anonymity this time. I'm sorry if that discounts you. But this time no codes to protect you from stalkers.

The discs will be expected to be in transit on June 7th.

Questions will be addressed from this point on:

F.A.Q.
Q:If I was in the last exchange am I automatically in this one?
A:Nope. You have to e-mail me all over again. No carry over.

No person takes an action without believing that they are either increasing their personal gain or decreasing their personal loss.

By first understanding and then accepting that all people have a series of things they perceive as valuable and that these values directly influence their goals we can deduct motive and sometimes even the probable path.

By accepting that nothing you do is truly selfless, you can approach all decisions from a simpler angle. You have greater chance of succeeding if you are not putting time and energy trying to create and live up to a facade of nobility.

That being said it is also important not to confuse this for a license to be selfish. It is important to take care of yourself first, this is true, but you must also take care of those near to you. By strengthening them you are also in effect strengthening yourself.

By accepting these things you’ll be more willing to negotiate and compromise to a lesser gain then you could have as you will be operating from the perspective that while the short term gain may be less the potential for long term gain can be more important.

Always look for your benefits when making decisions. If you can create a personal investment towards a situation you are otherwise not part of, you are more likely to succeed.

Responsibility is also key in all things. It should never be denied or mis-assigned. Credit should always be given where it is rightly due. Any effects of actions you make are yours to bear and the consequences there of should always be faced and accepted gracefully.

Inversely, never feel obligated to take on another’s burdens. While it is fine to want to help others and it is respectable to take the responsibilities of others as your own when you can do so, it is not required. It is also always better to help someone help themselves then to just do it for them.

In the end each person owns their actions and the results of those actions in the same way that any one who owns a tree also owns the fruit of that tree. This should be considered when making any decision.

(I wonder if anyone will actually read this.)
