the thing I dont understand is why people think spam works? why would I want to buy a product from people that have deliberatly set out to anoy me by posting randomly on boards with completely unrelated products.

Spam just seems like a lazy way of advertsing.

Another company owns the web domain that I need (but they dont use the website), is it bad practice/will it cause me problems if I choose a similar name for the site?

travelingcamera.com

They own traveling camera.com, I'm thinking of buying travelingcameraclub.com

My worry is that it'll cause brand confusion but I need that domain name.

I know this is completely random and hardly any of you actually live near me but I figured I'd throw it out there anyway.

Anyone want to go see OK Go at the O2 Academy 2 Liverpool on Sunday, 17th January 2010?

Ok Go are awesome, their the band that does the treadmill dance I've seen them live once before and it was amazing and I really want to go again.

Unfortunatly when I saw them it was pre treadmill dance but they did do the million ways dance, which was impressive because the space they were playing was tiny.
