.

So I go to Borders and I'm wearing my Threadless "Burn" shirt.

I love Borders... so much more than the Crown bookstores I used to go to. (and not because the Crown name has been sold (Crown went belly-up a few years ago) to some bottom-feeding book discounters)

I feel relatively at home in a Borders... I can sit and read for a little while and check out a wide variety of book and magazines without feeling like I have to purchase them to know they are the ones I want to pick up. (and it works: I spent $82!)

I am a sucker for the clearance books in front of the store, and often find myself bringing a few books in... before I've even entered the store I'm buying some... So I usually bring them to the counter to have them held until I am ready to buy them. (Nice thought, isn't it? That the books I am about to take home are being held while I shop...)

...ANYWAY... I get up to the counter and I hear a guy talking to his friend about my shirt, saying "he's got a Threadless shirt." To which I reply, "Yes, he has." And we talk a little about how cool Threadless is, which Threadless shirts we have, which Threadless shirts we like, etc.

Then I get that uncomfortable feeling, you know, when you're talking to a stranger that you will not be seeing again, probably in your entire lifetime, and you've talked too long... You know that feeling? I had it. So I turned around and walked to the magazine section. Didn't say good-bye, didn't say "have a nice day!" Just turned around and walked away.

When I was in the parking lot leaving the store, a guy said "cool shirt" to me. I told him, "I got it at Threadless." He didn't know what I was talking about and said he thought it was a Fantastic Four "Human Torch" shirt. But at least he thought it was cool...

Just wanted to share that... I've gotta go... got some reading to do!

.

Hey!

One of my favorite things about Threadless is the quality of the designs. The users are so creative, you get such a wide variety of great shirts... I want soooo many more than I've been able to afford... for now.

Plus they let you "vote" to bring back out of print designs!

How cool is that?!?
