Man, after messing with color options, I think I really should have shown the "Midnight Blue" version below:

Thank you threadless for printing this, I was shocked but very happy it was picked since it had not too many comments (thank you for those that did)!! Perhaps there's someone on staff that really liked it :-)

Maltzmania and Ladykat will receive a shirt of their choice, thanks for modeling!

BTW, it was said in another blog to describe the thinking behind this, so here goes: I just wanted to do something to give hope to the future by showing objects of war evolving into objects of peace. Originally I had no backdrop, but thought that a tree also could resemble a mushroom cloud, so I added the background and did gradients to enhance the transition, and give it a cut-out feeling with the other elements. I also originally designed this to split evenly in the middle in the hopes the zip-up hoody would be offered. The lines are there (to the dismay of some) for separation from a distance, like a six-panel triptych.

Revolution Contest Predictions

http://www.threadless.com/profile/388056/dacat/313064/Revolution_Contest_Predictions

This is a placeholder for me to keep track of ones I think might be in the final set of consideration. I've $5'ed a whole bunch of amazing designs (64 in total), so this contest has plenty of great printable subs. But I've narrowed down ones I think might make the judges panel...disregarding scores in general and picking out the reasons which I feel are "revolutionary" to threadless.

Reason: Photo realistic blending of colors and shapes is amazingly subtle and gorgeous. The overall effect is super sharp.

Reason: Full of symbolism and meaning along with insane technical skills and color options. I tend toward realism in my own designs, and this design schools the crap outta me. I hope the nega-verse one is printed, but I'd buy any of them.

Reason: The anti-revolution revolution shirt, one color belt print that is genius and says "eff all those detailed designs with special inks!". It's a guaranteed print, but I think it probably won't win the revo contest because it might just be too simple.

Reason: We need more somni-like abstract goodness on threadless...this has it in spades and the style and colors are in-your-face hot!

Reason: "Scare your parents" good up close, plus great use of belt and traditional printing making it unique for each t-shirt, yet looks amazingly good and not so scary from a distance too. I actually think this has the highest chance of winning the contest.

Reason: How many inside-outside shirts are there on Threadless that look this good? None. Plus the concept of each side seeing a faded image of the other is so cool.

Reason: A personal favorite, this has it all...a great message, mix of techniques, sweet colors and composition...a shirt I'd want to wear any time.

Reason: Just plain gorgeous. The only drawback is, it's almost toooooo gorgeous to win the revo, but another guaranteed print for sure.

Reason: This design is the epitome of random elements that look good together. It doesn't care that you "get it". It just looks good. The mix of techniques is perfect without being gimmicky.

Reason: If Threadless can print this amount of color and make it look this good, then it should be done. Just a visually stunning piece that pushes the color limits to the max.

Reason: Bold, abstract, big-print, unique at threadless for sure. It has the right combinations to make an impressive shirt

Reason: This shirt has very similar strengths to dhectwenty's above, but in a much more sinister way...the guy in me would probably buy this shirt before many others in this list.

Reason: I just think this is a badass design...soooo not cute, so not funny in any way...just badass!

Reason: Like I commented in this design, kenny's first print was already revolutionary...so that's the only negative...he's competing with himself!

First of all, thanks to all the people who supported our design and thanks to Threadless for choosing it, it really is a dream come true! Also, thanks to Evan for coming up with this concept and providing me with great direction throughout this process. Working with such a threadless veteran was tremendously fun and rewarding! Collabs are a great way to get "idea" people together with artists and do something exciting, the future is bright for collabs! -Jack

The future shall will hopefully be quite bright indeed Mr. Jack! That is, if a collaber has as talented an artist to realize an idea as you have done to this project. Jack was continually giving me updates on House Salad and asking for any new ideas right up until he subbed it. His level of detail on the design is astounding (especially those "lettuce" grass blades), and his realization of ranch dressing went above and beyond the call of collab-dom. Thanks so much to him and to everyone who loved and supported this design when it was up for voting. I can't help but think so many people commenting that this was a sure-fire print might have pushed this one over the top at Threadless HQ! -Evan

http://www.threadless.com/profile/388056/dacat/295987/WTF_Scores

Newly added:

1.8...wow...I'm glad the revolution contest throws out the idea of scores, this should have done better

1.9? Are you fucking kidding me?

Yes, 2.3 is a decent score...but I can post a dozen 2.3 designs that don't even come close to this (mine included).

Really, a 1.7? WTF is wrong with the voters these days?

WTF on that score? Does everything have to be cute to score high?

Seriously 1.5? One of the most retarded scores ever. Not to mention a 2.36 for this one is ridiculous:

2.18 for a GENIUS 2-color design that looks amazing on the t-shirt? So robbed...this is a shirt I could wear every day.
