Anyone? Anyone? I've google every possible combination that I can think of to find it, but it's likely been shut down for a long time. I'm trying to remember how I found it in the first place... probably from a friend or maybe bored.com? since I've had time to check Threadless as often or had money to buy anything. It had also exploded around the time I left and there were just too many blogs to keep up with.

How had everyone been? What did I miss?

On the Mary front, I'm mad at myself because I didn't save my old profile picture before updating it. I'm on my 3rd computer at this point





(finally! A MacBook!) so that picture is probably long gone.

I actually don't really have time for a Threadless blog post. I'm avoiding editing a paper I'm presenting tomorrow night at an "Emerging Scholars and Teachers in the Arts Symposium." It's on the post-apartheid theatre of South Africa.





I'm also avoiding a 20-source annotated bibliography on literary criticism of "Little Women."





Wooo... It's going to be a long night.

At first you didn't see me but then I said, "Hey! Threadless!" And you looked at me, rather startled and then said, "Yeah." Then you saw what I was wearing and nodded in acknowledgement. And it was cool.

The Adventures of Mary and Her Honda
Part One: The Parking Lot with Really Narrow Spaces

Mary lives on campus in the Courtyard at Winthrop.

Courtyard residents are special because they get their own parking places. This allows for them not to ever have to park in the gravel lots like other normal, residence hall residents. While this situation is great for never having to worry about finding a decent parking place, the Courtyard lot is just like all other on-campus lots: it has itty-bitty little spaces.
On Tuesday morning, Mary decided that she needed to go to the bank to deposit her refund check before class. As she had class at 9:30 and currently no money outside of that particular, glorious check, she got up early to make it to the bank as soon as it opened.

Rushing to her white 1999 Honda Accord, she failed to notice the note on her windshield until she was halfway to the bank. Luckily, it had rained in the night and the note was firmly stuck. When she got to the bank, she removed the note. It read in quickly scrawled handwritting:

Hey! I'm really sorry I scraped your car. This is my number, ###-###-####. I'm willing to pay for the minor paint damge. I'm sooooooo sorry.

"Scraped my car? What the...?" Mary thought to herself as she inspected her car. This is what she found:



Mary was thankful that the girl was nice enough to leave the note. She called the number and they arranged to meet later that day when their classes were over.
*Fast-forward to 5pm*
Mary finally met Shantaye and they decided that it would we best for both of them to worry about fixing the car until the next week. Shantaye informed Mary that her friends had just told her to leave, but she didn't want to do that because she wouldn't want someone to do that to her. Mary decided that Shantaye was a very nice girl and truly appreciated her honesty.
*Fast-forward to the weekend*
Mary mad a trip home to Sumter so her dad could look at the car. After cleaning the damaged area, her dad decided to just buy some touch-up paint and fix it himself.

It was a white car and the places where the paint had come off weren't very big, so it was easy to do.
Feeling good about being able to save herself a bunch of time and saving Shantaye a bunch of money, Mary returned back to school. As she pulled into a parking place in the Courtyard lot, Mary heard a sickening sound. "EEEEEEEEEEEEEE..." She had done the exact same thing that Shantaye had done to her car to someone else's... to someone else's white Honda Accord, no less. Feeling really embarrassed, Mary left basically the same note Shantaye left for her.

She's now waiting for a phone call. Will her victim be as nice as Mary was to Shantaye or will the owner of the other Honda have a hissy fit and make Mary pay hundreds of dollars instead of just $10?
