Man, I'm so sick of this "Fast Food Nation" Loves contest already. It's like it's the perfect, sanctioned chance for people's anti-fat prejudices to come out: fat people are FUNNY! fat people are UGLY! fat people eat JUNK FOOD! fat people PORK OUT! all fast-food eaters are FAT! FAT BAAAAAD!

The size-acceptance and Health At Any Size movements are not yet mainstream, it's true, but why is it still so acceptable to have a go at people who are larger than the so-called "ideal"? I realize the media is still obsessed with the "fat = baaaaaaaad" meme, but even CBS Nightly News ran a piece last night on how weight seems more related to genetics overall than to diet, and how health is more correlated to activity level and good nutrition than to weight or BMI or any other measure of "obesity."

"The Obesity Myth" has sold an awful lot of books. But here a contest themed around "Where are YOU on the fast food chain" (NOT "where are fat people on the fast food chain") yields submission after submission that is just insulting to people who don't have tight, toned abs and a winning ticket in the genetic lottery.

Go watch the "Skinny" video by Lo Rider. Then have another go at this contest.
