nope, i didn't trace an octopus photo. i did a painting of one in a letter 'O' for a school project, traced the outline of that painting to make a different painting which you can find here - http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/36537615/ - and then traced that outline in illustrator.

the original 'O' painting is a detailed ink painting of an octopus, i used a photo reference for it but had to shape it around into an o shape, and did not trace the photo.
