bleary-eyed and incredulous, i gaped. "pardon?"

clerk gestured to my shirt. "what are you selling?"

i glanced down in order to remind myself of the day's hastily improvised costume. "um.. i'm selling rayguns?"

clerk nodded and smiled as though this was precisely the answer he was after.
