Christmas time in a bad economy is no fun. I haven't had any work for about three weeks. Still hunting around for jobs...

I wonder how everyone else is doing. It's times like these that I kind of wish I had a normal 9-5 job instead of being a freelancer. At least I'd have the guarantee of a steady pay check.

I'm going to start subbbing again just for the very very slim chance that I get printed.

I may start mowing lawns soon...

Swollen appendage

My toe has been red and swollen for the last couple days for no apparent reason. it's itchy and about twice it's normal size.

I think I may have been attacked by a spider whilst I slept...maybe.

What should I do to it? I already tried black magic.

I've had a few friends recently state that 'people do not change'.

This statement always bothered me a little bit. I mean, maybe there's a point that one reaches in his life when he he has settled in his identity and who he thinks he is as a person in society.

However, I think people change all the time. I think it can happen over a life time, or in an instant.

If people didn't change, wouldn't that make all of theology, semantics, philosophy meaningless? Wouldn't it just be a pointless exercise?

When someone says that 'people don't change', I think what they really mean is something like, 'people don't change into what I want them to be', or 'people don't change as quickly as I'd like them to'.

Or, maybe people don't change. Maybe people only feign change in an attempt to appease someone or something.

dying laptop :/

so, I opened my old laptop this morning and the screen didn't light up. Basically, I can see the screen if I look really hard in just the right light. It's old, and I don't know if it's worth getting it fixed or even if it can be fixed.

Anyone have any experience with this kind of thing?

I'm thinking of just pawning it off on craigslist at this point.

Any raw foodies out there?

I've been a vegetarian for about 4 years and recently decided that I'd give the raw food diet a try. I've been at it for about a week and am really loving it. I feel really good and the food is satisfying.

New company name

So, I co-own a production company with my business partner. I am in the process of buying him out which means I'll own everything and will also be starting a new company.

We mainly do commercial production but dabble in some print on the side.

Our old company was called Stroop Effect Studios

So, now I need help coming up with a new name. My brother and I have been tossing around a few ideas.

Maybe Kite Flyer Productions, Dream Kite Studios (maybe too whimsical)...I dunno. Something light and magical...maybe.

What'd be a cool name for a production company?

Rolf came up with the last name and I bought him a shirt. I'll do the same for anyone who can come up with a name that I like.
