As a completely unnesessary return gift for the Ferris Buehler Guinea Pig Theatre Rachel sent me a package of delicious fun!



There's an awesome hat (which fits beautifully - if there's ever a next time I want the full animal treatment!), a Screenwriters magazine (random!), a scratch-y glittery fun thing, a coloring book page from her munchkin, a Escher-y envelope, and a sweet note.
(all the other stuff: Niece hands, baby's bumblee outfit, netflix and wife purse were not included)

She is a sweet, sweet lady, who I simply adore.

IT'S AN ANNIVERSARY!

You are all invited to take part in the celebration.
There will be punch and a delicious assortment of cookie treats.

I want to do some sort of contest.
I really do.
But I can't think of anything clever. So I came up with this lame idea:

Email me something nice, and sweet, and complimentary (or whatever) and what your favorite Guinea Pig Theatre has been to this date, and if you want what Guinea Pig Theatre you would like to see made.
I will take all three of those emails, put the name in a hat (probably a crocheted hat that someone lovingly made for me (that I haven't yet had time to photograph!) and whoever I pull out will be GREATLY REWARDED.

I'm thinking there's a very good chance you'll receive a POSTER FEATURING EVERY SINGLE GUINEA PIG THEATRE EVER MADE.

I love you guys!]]> Sat, 30 Aug 2008 22:42:28 -0500 Tonight is the last night of the job I've had for the last three point eight years.
A job that allowed for an extreme amount of internet time and general screwing around.
A little less than three years ago a friend suggested Threadless to me to fill up the grotesque amount of free time I had here, and it has, quite sincerely, changed my life for the better.
My weekend shifts began to consist of non-stop submission sketching and completing and quickly thereafter I attempted to insert myself into the community - mostly, in full disclosure - to improve comments and score quality.

There are few things I'm happier about having done.
If I hadn't joined in with the nonsense jabbering I don't think I would've kept up the subbing, I wouldn't have returned to the creative ventures I had abandoned the five previous years and I wouldn't have gone from that terrible sub at the bottom right there to the slightly less terrible one 58 higher. I wouldn't have ever cared about anything besides drinking and easy bar women, I wouldn't have been half as happy, I wouldn't have met and married my wife (and made the most kickass baby ever) and I wouldn't be who and what I am today. I'm so thankful. I really, really, truly am.

In the big Threadless Scheme I've been little more than a bit player. I know I've pissed off my fair share, inadvertently creeped out everyone's fair share and for the most part didn't ever rock the blogs. I definitely didn't make as many friends as I would have liked, and didn't network as much as I should.
But I truly adore you all (even the ones I don't like who, at least, spiced up my days), and I wish that I could do little more than posts mindless, non-sequitur banter all day for the rest of my days.

Leaving this job to my new job is going to pretty much eradicate internet downtime. I'm still going to sub, I'm still going to pop in, but I'm not nearly going to have the internet presence I have now - and when I say internet presence I mean threadless presence.
So, I'll still be around occasionally - especially to pimp the new the new Guinea Pig Theatre on Saturdays, and whatever shirt or art ventures I have going.

For the positive, I suspect my departure will allow the commonality of bikini pics to begin to grow as I will no longer be hear to creep the ladies out with my appreciation. Thankfully, Omair isn't getting a new job.
