O.k., so I came out of my hermit shell to become a part of the lovely threadless community. It was all very frightening at first, I had never known a world beyond this spiral safe haven. As I emerged, I sprouted wings and flew up into the clouds, only they were made of wax so they melted as I neared the sun. I plumeted into the sea and was swallowed by a whale. I made new home in it's belly for three days, but then he spit me out. It was then that I met a friendly mermaid who carried me to the shore. On the way she told me a sad story of how she was in love with a human prince but her mean dad wouldn't let her go to the surface. I sympathized with her then bid her goodbye as I crawled back to the shore.
I crossed the shore and began to make my way through the grassy jungle. I don't know exactly what I was looking for but was quite surprised at what I found. I came a cross a catipillar who spoke very strangely and was smoking a pipe. He informed me that if I ate the mushrooms I would grow or shrink. I took a chance and bit one, then I grew 37 feet tall. I climbed up a cliff and sat to ponder the meaning of these things, then to my confusion I saw a small boy climbing a beanstalk to get to where I sat. He was saying some nonsense about a golden goose and a harp. I think he was totally crazy but I kindly explained to him that I didn't know what he was talking about. He then went raving mad and I had to thump him away because he was like a gnat buzzing in my ear.
I decided that 37 feet was not a good height to be at all so I ate another mushroom. I shrunk back down to my normal height and began to hike again. I met a lovely young girl who said her name was Thumbelina. I asked her if she would help me get back home and she agreed. She said she new of a witch who had a magic mirror who knew everything, and if we ask she could probably tell us how to get back to the ocean. All I wanted was to go back to my hermit shell and live in peace. We rode a pair of sparrows to the witch's castle and flew into the window. When we asked the witch to tell us how to get home, she told us we had to deliver an apple to her grand daughter before she would tell us anything, so we set out on our sparrows to the young girl's house. When we got there, the girl was not home. Before we could even explain ourselves this dopey looking dwarf took our apple and ate it! I was so mad, I wished I was 37 feet tall again so I could stomp this dumb midget. Shortly after he ate the apple, he grew very sick and looked like he was going to die. I thought, maybe the catipillar will know some medicine we can give him, so we hurried back to meet him.
When we arrived at his home, Thumbelina's sparrow must have been terribly hungry because it ate the caterpillar in one gulp. "Now what are we going to do?" I asked Thumbelina. "All we can do now is go tell the witch what happened." So that's exactly what we did. When we broke the news to the witch, she became furious and started throwing lightning bolts at us. While dodging them and flying around her dungeon I saw a small vile that was labeled, "apple antidote." I flew to it and retrieved it; then Thumbelina and I made our escape.
We took the medicine to the dwarf and he got better. We asked the other dwarfs if they knew how to get back to the ocean. They said they did not, but they knew someone who could show us the way. There was a princess that lived in the witch's tower. You could see the entire kingdom from the top of her tower. She was sure to know the way to the ocean. As we were approaching the tower, our sparrows were captured and eaten by some enchanted owls. I was sure the witch sent those owls. Fortunately, we had made it to the tower, but we weren't quite sure how to get up it. Just then, the princess let down her freakishly long hair and we climbed to the top. She showed us the way to the ocean and we expressed to her our grattitude. We climbed back down the tower and met a couple of squirrels who agreed to take us to the ocean. Finally, back at my hermit shell. But now what about Thumbelina? I hated to leave her, but I missed my solitude, so I told her she could visit any time. She made herself a home inside a sea turtle shell, and now we visit each other often.
