I did, I did. And while there were probably some minor issues, I think the results are pretty good. These are just edited scans because we haven't learned how to print yet, but OH MY GOD I AM SO EXCITED. These are just a few shots.

Anyway, this is a silly post, but I AM SO EXCITED OH MY GOD. Actually doing it, mixing the chemicals and going through the process, is the best feeling ever. I'm afraid I will become a recluse this semester from spending too much time in the darkroom :)

Hope you're all doing well, and I'm totally jealous of everyone (Kevin especially) who's going to Chicago this weekend!

Apologies for the self-portrait, but it was convenient for illustrative purposes.

Exhibit A: Geologic Time poster! FULL OF DINOSAURS/OTHER PREHISTORIC BEASTS! The brand name is "Ancient Life Publishing." Lolz. My roommate came to visit me and we purchased it from an old man in the basement of OSU's geology building. For six bucks.

Exhibit B: Spider man shirt + (unpictured) Iron Man shirt. Yesterday, Kevin and I were at Old Navy and I saw this table stacked with comic book tees. For $10. Apparently, I wear a boys 8! Yay for being the size of an eight-year-old boy.

Really. Haven't even looked through the catalog in months, I would say. But I figured I should have a looksee, since it's a sale and all :D

Is there any reason I should NOT buy any of these? Which is the most awesome?

I am sad because I think my Napoleon in War Paint and Folk Rock and Roll shirts will wear out soon. Man I love that thing.

Anyway, here's what I'm thinking:

The only thing that I'm turned off by is that some of them are on AA, and I really hate the way those shirts fit once they go through any kind of shrinkage (which happens no matter how careful you are). Plus, the size I need is more like a... marge than a medium or large.

So, dear friends, I am thinking of venturing into the world of selling photographic prints on etsy.

The only problem is, I am complete and utter n00bsauce. I have a vague idea of what people would like to buy (I certainly don't expect to sell self-portraits, haha), but I don't really know how I should be pricing things. Or what sizes people would want (I'm guessing 8x10?) Or even where I should be getting this shit printed. I've had mixed experiences with actual camera shops (sometimes the colors have just been wacked out), and actually I've found kodakgallery to be the best, but is that good enough?

I'm a babe in the woods :(

I'm not setting out with the expectation that any of you would actually buy anything from me, necessarily, but what do you think I should sell? And what's a reasonable price to ask for an 8x10?

I put together a set of what I think is some of my better work, as I recognize that it would be kind of awful to ask you to go through my whole stream (though I might've missed something, haha).

They're such awesome little creatures, and it's been so long.

If it doesn't happen before I go back to school, I might cry.

Even if I only find frogs, it will be fantastic!

--------

EDIT: My whim became a reality! Kevin and I went looking down in a nearby ravine last night, and we found four salamanders and three frogs. Win!

So, since the end of first semester of last year, two of my good friends have transferred, and now my BEST friend/roommate for next year wants to leave after first semester.

Leaving me without a best friend AND without a roommate. Which... really sucks.
It feels like a conspiracy. And here I was, looking forward to not having to try as hard to make new friends. Guess that's out the window.
