Critiques and obligations
Hey guys-- Just had a quick query that I was hoping someone out there might have an answer to.

If I submit a design for scoring and it fails-- I get it back (proprietry-wise) after 90 days.

What happens if I submit a critique? Does this count as a submission if I choose not to submit it for scoring? The terms and conditions weren't super-clear on this.

Don't get me wrong-- I'm loving threadless and am not planning to jump ship to another tee design site just yet. I just want to know what my obligations are regarding my artwork.

PS-- Don't be a hater if there is already a blog/discussion focussed on this topic. I looked-- I promise.

I don't think there are any legal obligations for critiques. The critiques can be deleted by you at any time so if you sub one of your critiques to another site and they print it, just delete the critique.



At least that's how I understand it.

That's what I thought too-- but surely this opens the dorr for abuse of the critique system-- I.e. develop your design on Threadless and then submit elsewhere.

yeah that's true, i hadn't thought of that. i guess threadless is taking a chance with that?

Critiques don't count as submissions, and we would absolutely never use any of your artwork for any reason without compensation!
