Im not sure if anyone else here has any particularly strong feelings on this matter, but they are mentioning it every other minute on the radio here, & its really getting my back up.
Im generally pretty hardline & unforgiving, but I honestly thought that releasing Megrahi was the right thing to do, & was an appropriate show of compassion given the current & past relations with Libya. Now Im hearing that there are groups in the US asking for a boycott of the UK because of the release. It seems to me strange to be so outraged by the release of one terminally ill man, when there was hardly a murmur of discontent when the US lifted sanctions on Libya. Plus, Id rather he were back home than using up my tax dollars here.

it seems obvious that some some of trade agreement is behind the early release; and while it might be realpolitik it doesn't mean it's not despicable.
and the trade boycott is pretty stupid, but there you go
