Yeah, I was laughing at this earlier today. At uni we did the same thing in next door's microwave with a similar result. It broke the microwave, too.

The idea of microwaving an egg is daft enough, but to stand there watching it, with your face next to the door is funny as.

i don't understand. was he microwaving the egg while it was still in the freakin' shell or something? i mean, i've microwaved plenty of eggs before and I've never had a problem. but i always stir them in a bowl first.

Im worried now that Ive given microwaving eggs a bad name....its a very easy & time efficient way to do things, as long as you remember to poke the yolk.

It says he was poaching it. I poach eggs in the microwave all the time.



(Is poaching always done in the microwave? You end up with basically the same result if you fry it in one of those rings in a pan, but that's a fried egg.)



It's quite easy to make them explode. You need to microwave in small bursts. I think it must have something to do with air getting trapped and expanding.
