HarvestMoon aka Kelley is a 24.54 year old girl, has been a member since February 26, 2005, has scored 1,181 submissions, giving an average score of 1.15, helping 15 designs get printed.
My new submission, which I was quite excited about just fetched a whopping 1.02... Now, I know we get these types of blogs all the time, but I would really like some opinions on my submission "Sprout". And honestly, do not know why it deserved a 1.02. I know it's life, and I'm over it, but I'd like to grow from this, too. Thanks, :]

If it is not out of place for me to ask, and please take no offense, please. How long did you spend on your design? and What program are you using to create it? This might help me give better feedback without just saying that "I didn't have my attention grabbed by the art so that effected my score."

It was done with a plain calligraphy pen, scanned black only, then colored on the template. I messed up a little on the sizing, but I don't think it deserved a 1.02...

i think the comments i've seen before on "how long did this take you?" are totally irrelevant. some of the most amazing designs have been done really quickly. it's really totally subjective on why people like this or that, a lot of times for me it's simply because "i'm not feeling it."

Well HM, I think ONE part of the problem is the fact that this site is PROBABLY frequented mostly by guys. And since that means that "most" guys would never wear that shirt, "most" people gave it a low score. I think that's why shirts that are bisexual so to say make a better impression on people.

Also, it's unclear what it is. If it's nothing, and just purely design, it's almost hard to tell. It's like there's not enough there for someone to think it's not something but they just don't know what it is. Wow, did that make any sense?

It's an Aztec Idol with two flowers "sprout"ing from it's headdress.

Ok, knowing it was hand drawn now. I can say you have a good hand for drawing. what I don't like about the line style you did was the use of the "plain calligraphy" line. In your rabbit the line width has interest and depth, which your new image lacks. I bet if this more recent piece was drawn more like your first, it might have done better.

well, I tried to go very simple, large lines (which is why I used the big pen) because most submissions I see are very thick lined & simple color, I guess I tried the "monkey see, monkey do" technique and it didn't work for me.

Hopefully my other submission "loved" (oh god, that title is generic!) will do better, it's a more "sketch-y" thick lined drawing..

forgive me but i'm going to put it bluntly. i don't see a point to wearing that shirt. there's nothing exciting about the design or the concept. besides, it looks like something a hippie would wear.

This one looks kind of rushed, like you just scribbled something on a tablet, filled in all the enclosed bits, and slapped it on a t-shirt template. I think the concept would work a lot better if you gave it the sort of detail you gave your rabbit submission.

Rereading my comment with the dry inflection of THE INTERNET, I realize it probably came off a bit harsh. Sorry about that. I swear that my intentions were pure.
