hello- anyone else watched this fantastic series? best thing to come out of the states ever!

just finished season 4....and season 5 comes out next week, can't wait.

recommended for anyone whose sick of stuff like CSI or the like.

also if your one for special effects/set pieces over fine acting and decent dialogue......move along!

Yes, I love it.

It makes watching any other cop show seem naive, melodramatic and fake.

its superb- but unlike some shows you cant just dip in any old time- or watch it from any season onwards.....

what sold me this show was a while ago on telly the main writer was interviewed-and when asked what about the casual viewer who just wants to dip in everynow and then- he cut in and said"listen-fuck the casual viewer"

that sold it to me :-)

I should state I still enjoy the Shield, but that still pales to how excellent the Wire is.

Also I've only ever watched it in DVD, I couldn't imagine waiting a week between episodes.

Best crime/urban drama series I've ever watched. The writing on that show is phenomenal.
