Seven Samurai is one of my favs of all time, Kurosawa's movies are teh awesome.

A lot of Wong Kar-Wai's movies, Chung King Express, Fallen Angels, 2046.. really stylish films. Miike Takashi's City of Lost Souls was excellent, and Audition was beautifully shot but creepy as hell to watch. Recently saw Last Life in the Universe, which had Tadanobu Asano, the other guy from Zatoichi, and that was a pretty great one as well.

And I'm an animation fan, so all of Hayao Miyazaki's films. La la la

For animation, you would have to see the films of Yiri Trinka, simply magical. My favourites tend to come from France The Four Hundred Blows, The Red Balloon, La Belle et Bete, oh god there are so many. I've recently seen Maria Full of Grace a Columbian film, it was good! Picnic at Hanging Rock from Australia. My favourite all time has to be Pandora's Box starring Louise Brooks made in 1925 - AWESOME!!!

siz to disagree there goatse, i found kill bill a bit of a let down. dont understand why it was in two parts? could've easily been squashed to one film. the first one ended with a fantastic fight sequence. that should have kinda been the end fight, i just thought zatoichi was great 'cause it was made by beat takishi who in my opinion is under rated, in the uk zatoichi went by without any publicity.which i think is a crying shame.also i love anything by larrs von trier.

Oh!

You should all see the Japanese musical/horror Happiness of the Katakuris.

It is brilliant, and I bet would be really inspirational for designers in that IFC contest!

Happiness of the Katakuris is worth watching due to it being extremely bizarre, I really want to see the Motorcycle diaries, Kung Fu Hustle and Save the green planet, though that last one has had some shite reviews.

I have many favorites; I'll just list anything I can think of at the moment: A Better Tomorrow Trilogy, Infernal Affairs (being remaked by Scorsese), Amores Perros, Battle Royale, Seven Samurai, Yojimbo, Dreams, Amelie, Shaolin Soccer, Kung Fu Hustle. I found Ichi the Killer to be alright compared to Takashi Miike's other film Audition(which made me cringe plenty).

ady bear- Too late, already saw the movie lol. Was quite disappointed in it too. When they armed the students with guns, it begins to lose its survival aspect it was known for (at least for me).

I have an increasing interest in foreign films, especially those in Spanish. Y tu Mama Tambien and Amores Perros are both amazing. I'd like to see the following:

Talk to Her
The Motorcycle Diaries
Sex and Lucia
The Sea Inside
Open Your Eyes
Bad Education

Also, as stated before, Amelie and City of God are also amazing films.

I'm going to pipe up with:

Shaolin Soccer + Kung Fu Hustle - Chow is a comedy genius
House Of Flying Daggers + Hero - both endings had me in floods
Taxi - the original French one
Brotherhood Of The Wolf
Seven Samurai
The Killer
Fong Sai Yuk 1 & 2
Chinese Ghost Story

Hmm. This list appeared to grow a lot faster than I'd expected. Maybe I just like reading a good film...
