I have a few questions?

Firstly, I have noticed that people who "spam" their designs on other peoples submissions DO get a lot of comments.. (both positive and negative) but I have noticed that most people do not appreciate others doing this. I really don't want to piss people off here and do this to others. So I ask this.....

Obviously a good, appealing design is paramount however…what do people do here to get their design noticed other than promoting it on a blog?

And second, what is the general consensus of people spamming others? And does this affect your voting? ie would/do you vote someone down for spamming?
