i wish there was a way for JUST the person who made the design to see what the average score was as voting is happening.

Thats a good idea. It wouldnt be hard to code either (bearing in mind the huge headswelling skillz these Threadless boys have at their fingertips). I reckon they should stick that in there.

yea, i agree.

it would be useful to be able to gauge whether or not to start reworking a design earlier rather than having to wait the full week and see what the final score is. after about 100 or 200 scores, you'll get a pretty good idea of what the final will be.

for example, some people have suggested some things for my latest design, but i don't know how high the score is, and whether or not these things will make a difference. so if i knew the score, i could get working on the suggestions earlier.

Then again, this site is addictive enough without having the added temptation of checking to see how your percentages are doing! I would never get on with any of my 'rea' design jobs!

I don't think the scores are averaged until the end.........ya know, cause you can go back and change your score...........

yea, but it's not hand-calculated. it's a simple job, it's just a matter of having it calculated after every vote, rather than save it until the end.

no, this would be a bad idea because it would cause people to behave in a more biased way. It might cause people to vote against how they normally would, either because they pitied the existing score, thought it was too high, or were influenced oppositely by the group's opinion being different than theirs. Keeping the score secret keeps voting more realistic and honest.

kemmler, we're saying it would only be visible to the person who submitted the design, not the voters.

What's to stop the designer from posting their current score, hoping for a little pity?

The thing I'd like to see is the final number, or percentage of final votes, that marked "I'd buy". It seems to be the only true benchmark of whether or not a design gets printed.

It would be good at the end to show how many id buys were submitted.

might be nice, but it's unnecessary. i'd much rather know how many people hit the "I'd Buy!" button, but i can see why they're not showing us that either.

If the i'd buys were shown at the end, it could give the designer a better idea as to whether or not it weould be worth pursuing their own personal print. You could get an overall poor result in the scoring due to averages but still get quite a few people who would buy it, I realise that there would have to be a HUGE number of votes against a shirt to drag it down like this but it's not impossible.
