To ink or not to ink? That is the question....

I am thinking about getting something like this as a tattoo.
One rose for each of my 4 kids.
Just as well I'm not octomum or my arm could look like a florist!

I really like it. Only problem is my little sister gets married end of next year and she 's asked me to be Chief Bridesmaid. Should i wait?
am i too old? what if i get tuckshop arms?

Btw i've never had a tattoo before - does the shoulder/arm hurt alot.

You might want to put it somewhere that you could hide it more if you want if you are concerned about what others might think. I didn't get my first tattoo until I was 30. All tattoos hurt, some places more than others. I don't have any on my arms, but the back of my neck was the least painful. I also have both of my feet tattooed and my lower back. I think the design is lovely!

yeah i suppose i could always wear a shawl at her wedding maybe?
i've sent her a message - still waiting for her to reply.

I was thinking if i got it on my shoulder i could still cover it up with a Tee if i wanted to. I'm not really worried about what others will think - just thinking ahead to when i'm like 60!

it's a classy placement, with a sweet meaning behind it, you really think your sister would object that strongly to it?

i'd even suggest doing them in a black and grey style...

i got a similar tribute recently by accident. i let the artist make it up on the spot and she gave me two red roses and a purple one. my wife and son are redheads and my daughter loves purple. lucky break.

Now that i know what i want, i dont think i can wait until after oct next year (her wedding).

It's a good place to get it and a good thing to get there. Tattoos in places you can easily hide are always horrible places to put tattoos.

That's a cool idea for a tattoo and think it looks nice with just the black outline and grey shading. Have to warn you that the shoulder hurts a bit because the skin is thinner there and the shoulder bone is kind of close to the surface.

well, I'm a wimp when it comes to stuff like that so don't worry, it's probably not that bad! Actually I imagine getting a nose piercing would be way more painful.

I had linked a picture of the most gorgeous (and yes, topless) girl in the Nice Tattoo blog with roses (and a gun) on her shoulder but now the Tumblr post it was linking to seems to have been deleted. It was actually on that Tumblr from someone else's Tumblr (I really have no idea how Tumblr works) but stupid Firefox deleted my history so I can't even find that. But it was nice.

If you are getting a tattoo on the gold coast either go see pommy Paul at 303 or go to skin FX in Surfers, thats where I got my first one done, and they are unreal!

I'll never find it again. I found it on ffffound but didn't add it to my ffffound because there's so much pppporn on ffffound that if you add anything even remotely sexual now it's all they ever suggest you in the future.

At any rate I thought it was cool. The gun made it a bit more badass, but you don't want one of those around when the roses are your kids.

I found that girl, completely at random. On a site called "Who's that girl?" of all things which was exactly what I'd been asking myself. Recognised her from her tatts of all things because she looks completely different to that one photo, (which was a slight let-down, not a huge let-down of course.) And she has a Flickr!

I found a t-shirt of her. They faded out her boobies and everything so I can wear it outside too. I probably still would feel a bit weird wearing it so I don't think I'll get it. But it's $11 so maybe.
