about Grandpa Cassette
Yes, cassettes may a bit outdated now, and really, nonexistent. Many online music stores, like Amazon are moving to what iTunes has been doing for years...selling the mp3 version of the album. Cassettes aren't even an option any more. And cds are a last resort. But, ignoring the fact that cds will soon be outdated too, cassettes still rocked when they were, well, not an endangered species. I really liked how they started putting a button in cars and boomboxes to fast forward to the next "track" on the tape. Essentially it just skipped to the next silent part so a few seconds later the next song would start. It wasn't the fastest, but it got the job done. But, unlike cds, tapes could be tossed around, thrown anywhere, even without cases, and all without worrying about scratching it. Yes, they were much harder to copy without losing a lot of quality, but the "dubbing" feature many boomboxes had was pretty nice and quick. Also, even now, we still use adapters to tap into sound systems everywhere, thus creating a makeshift audio input jack--from what? A cassette. Apple manufactures their own adapter designed for iPods and iPhones that does this. It's kind of funny that it skips from ipod to cassette without any thought of cds because cds are unadaptable. But, I certainly don't miss rewinding, static, or tangles in the ribbon... and I don't think I'm alone. about Nuts!
I attend the University of Oklahoma, and their mascot could EASILY be the squirrel. They're taking over. Anyway, everyone seems to notice this shirt when I wear it anywhere, but especially on campus. They think it's silly and wonder where I got it. This was my second threadless shirt, and still my favorite out of them all. It's getting a bit worn out, so I may have to buy another. It's kinda funny though. I hadn't really seen so many squirrels up close and personal until I started going to OU. Because there's SO MANY students constantly passing by with no regard for the little animals, they are not scared to come out in the open. They sit within inches of you eating their little acorn. Also, I never knew squirrels made noises until I went there. I guess I just assumed they were silent animals. Well...they're not. Not even close. I was passing under a tree one time when I first heard that half chirping, half screaming noise. Scared me to death. I looked up and there was a squirrel, yelping and screaming. Another one evidently stole his acorn or something. He was hot. I thought it was funny. Maybe I'm just too easily amused. Kinda one of those 'had to be there' things, too. You should come visit OU sometime. It's a beautiful campus for sure. The animals think so too. about Cheese
I was just reminiscing about those days past where our family went to Sears together and waited FOREVER just to get a stupid Christmas picture. I guess that's something I get to look forward to with my family soon. Or not. Anyway, as a child (and still as an adult =), I was the one who was scared of taking photos. As a child, I was scared for a different reason than I am now, but I was horrified nevertheless. My mom tells me stories of how that waiting was sooo horrible because I just DID NOT want to go in there. I'd seen this place before... no need to lie to me about it. I just knew that it was the dentist. I absolutely HATED the dentist (well, still do), and was too scared to go in. My parents had to coax me with who-knows-what I'm sure. Just for some dumb picture. Say, "CHEEEEESE!!"I like this shirt. Moves you around the picture until you're finally looking at what's on the stool. I like that you don't IMMEDIATELY see just the cheese. It's kind of romanticising the cheese, in my eyes. |
I'm currently studying at the University of Oklahoma to receive a degree in Graphic Design minoring in photography. Hopefully I'll submit some designs soon!
