"Creative Exercises"

Anyone have any tips or tricks on ways to work out the right brain to get those creative juices flowing? I'm trying to work on some design work but feel dried up at the moment.

think of bad puns, write everything down and illustrate it if you can no matter how bad or good.

Yeah I always try to do something I've not done before. Like art, but with a medium I've never used, or in some instances, learning an activity like skateboarding really helped me out in school.

william burroughs has a book of collected essays called the adding machine

there are a couple essays on this topic
one i can remember is turning on the tv, turning on the radio, opening up a newspaper or r go online and have some headlines up and write/draw as images come to mind with editing.

Usually when it comes to writing, I just write something, whether or not it's related to what I want to do.

Bar that, I'll usually step away from the project and do something else for a bit, an activity that will keep my mind off of things, and then come back. Or nap. My dreams usually help me do things.
