Not having much fun with traffic lately...

On Sunday night we were coming home after visiting my in-laws and doing the speed limit along a stretch of road that has two lanes each way.

We were in the right hand lane, just less than a car length behind another car in the left lane.

A large ute speeds up behind the car in the left hand lane and tailgates them for a few moments before trying to plough into our lane when there is neither room, nor an indicator to let us know his intention.

Suddenly realising we're alot closer than he obviously assumed, he had to swerve back into the left lane and sit right up the arse of the other car once again.

The driver of the ute was either an absolute moron, high as a kite or both and decided that we had purposely cut him off even though he was the one breaking the law and being a total dick.

So he swerves into our lane right behind us and tailgates us to the intersection.

The intersection turns the two lanes into three as it turns onto a main road. We stay in the right hand lane, the other car in the left and the ute between.

There was a car in front of us in our lane so we weren't level with the ute. This was fortunate as once he stopped, he wound down his window, made a hand gesture at us and then proceeds to wave a knife around in a threatening manner!

PSYCHO! Seriously, who does that?!?

The lights go green, he holds back and waits for the car in front of us to take off before swerving in front of us, taking up both our lane and his before speeding off.


Bit of an essay, but thought I'd share. Fun times... I guess.

Get a bit of a Koi Library happening...

My latest sub is inspired my cat... and the many moods and personalities he seems to have.

Lately he's taken to having a 'Mad Half Hour' every night. He'll just be sitting there relaxing and all of a sudden is doing laps.

He skids off the couch, rounds the kitchen faster than you can blink, dashes to the bedroom and then back to the loungeroom, and so on and so on.

If you happen to get in his way, then there are many aeronautical acrobatics to be seen. Quite spectacular, but odd. Definitely odd.

Does anyone else have a quirky cat? Or is it just mine?

So last night I received my first traffic offence and I've had my full licence for over six years now.

A cop riding a motor bike was suddenly behind me, lights flashing, as I was pulling into my street.

I had no idea what I had done. I've never intentionally been stupid while driving and so had never been pulled over before.

Nervously waiting for him to approach my window, every possible senario flashed through my head.

I've failed to stop at a stop sign. Shit.

I didn't even realise it at the time. I had been too busy focussing on where the bus in front of me was going, and what traffic was doing on the main road I was turning into.

Anyways... $300 and 3 or 4 (can't remember) demerit points later, I have now received my first traffic offence.

Not a great night.

Anyone else been caught lately?
