(Warning: this blog is moderately whiny)

So I met this guy. We get to talking and discover the following

1. we both teach
2. we both teach junior high + special ed
3. we both teach in rural alberta
4. we drive the same car
5. we quote the same movies in casual conversation
6. we have the same favourite and most hated book
7. the book I am reading is the book he just finished
8. we have the same CD in our CD player
9. we both coach volleyball
10. we both come from families of 6 with the same sibling breakdown of boys and girls.
11. we both majored in elementary ed and ended up in junior high

we decide to go out on a date

9. without knowing it, he suggests one of my favourite restaurants.
10. we order the same thing.

anyway, we talk for a million years (3 hours) and at the end he says, "that was fun we should do that again. Call me next time you're in town."

so I email him once that week saying I had a fun time and that I was in fact going to be in town the following weekend and did he want to meet up... no response.

and then I called him on thursday to say I was coming to town.. left a voicemail. no returned call. just a text on saturday saying, "call me and we'll work something out. sorry I didn't get back to you sooner"

and then when I call, he says, "i'm too busy this weekend.. maybe next weekend?"

but... I think the same thing will happen next weekend.


le sigh.
