1. Smaller portion sizes
2. less cheese
3. "If you want to eat whatever you want whenever you want to eat it, you have to go to the gym" - My boyfriend
4. 30 minutes of cardio on the elliptical every time I go to the gym
5. try to go to the gym at least 3 times a week

it was surprisingly easy, actually

I'm down with all of those except #2
ofthecoast
ofthecoast on Jul 15 '11 at 5:53pm
I know. #2 was hard at first. I gave up cheese completely for 40 days, and lost 11lbs, and then re-introduced cheese to my diet, but I just don't buy as much/as often. And I eat more goat cheese and less cheddar cheese now.

And fat, omair. I am running from fat.

awww congrats! woohoo!! You should post some pictures of cute things you're happy you can wear! I'm down about 20lbs from last year myself and it's sooooooo hard. I hate going to the gym. I'd like to drop another 15-20lbs though.

I've been working out, trying to get a sexy body. It's tough because the layer of fat on my stomach is taking its time leaving, even with 3-4 days of workout a week and some dieting for the past month.

And love handles. I don't even need them! Why are they there!

It takes longer than a month, Alvin. I lost my 18 in 6.5 months, so it's a slow process for sure, but it's so freaking worth it.

I hate going to the gym too, Lori, but I know it's just something I need to do if I want to keep eating the food I love, so I do it. Shaun and I try to go together every once in a while, too, and he is super motivating/encouraging so that helps.

And woop woop to 20lbs, CP! Way to go!

Great jorb, Miss Kelsi!!

And everybody else who has lost :)

I have lost about 60 (give or take - it always fluctuates a bit) and while I'm happy with that, I still would like to lose about 30-40.

AND I need to get a tummy tuck and my arms fixed *big time* I have a ton of loose skin that just won't snap back, so to speak. :/

Word. I'm not really too stressed about it though. I still look thin regardless of what I do.

And I get really bored at the gym. Even doing everything right, feeling the burn and ache, I just get so bored with it all.

woowoowoo! 60lbs! That's awesome! I'm shooting to lose another 10. I hope most of it comes off my boobs, too. That would be radical.

the gym is definitely not something i enjoy at all, but it was recently presented to me that it's not really about something you enjoy, it's just about doing something that you know is good for you. Like flossing your teeth or hanging up your clothes. Those aren't things I find stimulating, but they are things that need to happen. So is going to the gym. When you start to see it like that, it becomes less of a chore and more of a part of the routine of your life.

I hate the treadmill so much but I like running out in real life with friends. My friends are all stupidly active so hanging out involves throwing a medicine ball around or signing up for a 10k run. I tell you, it makes it a lot easier if you have people to exercise with. Do you go to the gym with your boyfriend? It is a chore, but you can definitely make it a fun one!

I agree, Amy. I'd much rather play a game of ultimate frisbee or something than run on a treadmill. I actually avoid the treadmill entirely, and do my cardio on an elliptical trainer. The movement is more natural, I find, and because it incorporates your arms, it's similar to hiking with poles, which is something Shaun and I are getting into.

I do go the gym with Shaun once in a while, and he is super motivating/encouraging/helpful. He explains the exercises to me so that I know what muscles I'm really working on, and makes sure I'm doing them properly so that when I go alone, I don't feel overwhlemed and just go home, because I totally used to do that.

I hate the treadmill. I usually end up biking and then imagining I've just killed a guy and I'm biking from the cops.

i the past year and a half I have lost 65 lbs. so unhealthily (fuck you diabetes) and some from being on a thyroid medication which has given me back a metabolism. Im currently okay with what i weigh but I know I could still use like ten pounds less of me. I need to make myself exercise but i also need to find time for it as well. an hour and a half commute to work every day kinda kills everything
