calling in sick
even when I`m actually sick, I still feel guilty. I`ve never taken a full sick day in my life.

What have you called in sick for when you weren`t actually sick for real?

I've called in sick twice. I just overslept on both accounts.
I feel guilty when I call in, but then I fall asleep and wake up and forget about it.

I've called in sick when I wasn't physically ill, but was convinced that I'd staple someone's eye shut if I went into work. Sometimes you just need a mental health day.

Hm, I've called in a few times. I would feel guilty about it, but I dealt with a lot of people/monies and it was pretty difficult for me to feign cheerfulness.

also, i was legitimately sick, and i didn't want to get other people ill with the whole like...exchange of monies/receipts.

I don't like people that come to work/school sick. I'd rather fall behind in my work or lesson than get sick or get someone sick. Thanks.

Since I work with food, I've been not going to work when I feel like crap...


I havent been to work since Tuesday... but I feel bad, but then again... would you really want someone sick to be touching your food?

it boggles my mind when people come into work sick because they believe that everything will fall apart if they stay home for one day. One of old supervisors did this, came in claiming she couldn't spare a single day away, and she infected the entire department, causing THREE WEEKS of staff shortages.

I agree with that. I haven't really ever been super sick while also employed, so while I've never taken a full sick day, I've also never gone to work when I probably should have stayed home.

I contemplated calling into work today because I've got a slight headcold, and with all teh H1N1 stuff, we were told to stay home whenever we were feeling sick, but there were no subs available, so I had to go to school anyway.

I did go to school when slightly sick though, because I almost had to retake my senior year because you only get so many sick days... and I am sick more than that many days a year.

But I have skipped lots of lectures before - I don't know if that counts.
