Where do kids learn from nowadays?
Apart from raping you guys with my persistent call for slogan voting, I also bombard you guys with random questions that come into my head...sorry...haha

So, question of the hour...

...what tv shows are kids learning from these days?
I was looking over saturday morning(and morning in general) tv shows and unless a kid wants to learn about what not to wear, or how to dance to some fuzzy animals, there aren't many shows that showcase an "education as fun" type ideal anymore.

As a kid, I watched alot of these shows more than occasionally and I think it really helped me in my later passion for education:

Bill Nye the Science Guy


The Magic School Bus


The Reading Rainbow


Zoom


Seriously, I would watch these shows religiously, and they seriously made learning cool. Right now, I don't see any medium in which kids are exposed to this type of stuff.

I was thinking about this, I couldn't live without sesame street when I was younger but there seems like no real alternative anymore. Everything seems dumbed down. Even at schools the stuff they get taught is even dumbed down. It's like the government wants to raise a generation of idiots.

I'm in complete agreement. It's funny that you bring up schools because alot of the shows I mentioned above, I only discovered because they were part of the lesson plans when I was in schools--and I really appreciated that.



What do they do now? Show the Hills? seriously...what alternative is there?!?
