I personally have never promoted or blogged about any of my printed designs at the time they were up for scoring



but I do think it is an acceptable thing to do, nobody's gonna bash you for it, and some think you should promote it everywhere you possibly can.

Having a blog about your design is usually a good idea. Also a guess the score blog where the closest guesser gets something in the event of a print is an acceptable way to generate more traffic for your design. But the bottom line is if your design is good enough you won't have to promote it which is why ISABOA and olie! Don't have to promote.

I occasionally send out emails to my friends, but they're too lazy to make an account, so it's mainly just a within threadless thing. Although, with my first collaboration, I e-mailed a lot of friends, and still, maybe like 10% actually voted.

I don't promote at all, only sometimes in the blogs, my highest score so far is 2.79 and I do agree if you make a great design which threadless community likes, you don't even need help from anyone else!

I promote when my stuff is up, but for the most part all it does is get the people that will already vote and comment to see your design a little sooner.

I'd assume that promoting never does any harm and will help a little when blogs are posted, etc so I say, why not?
