There's so many small online indie clothing lines out there, I imagine someone on here has to run one...

I imagine the majority of these lines aren't bringing in any serious money, but it's still really fascinating to me. Guess I'm just wondering what peoples experiences with them were. I think it'd be awesome to have your own line, but I imagine it as more of a hobby. It would be really nice though if it wasn't out of reach for the hobby to at least make enough to pay for itself.

check the forums at emptees.com, unless you already have....like 80% of the people there have indie tee shops

I do. It's mostly stuff that I never submitted to threadless, and I just sell at school. I don't really make much money, like maybe 2,000 bucks in the last year across two people. Then again, I don't put that much time into it. Most of the profits go into buying new shirts.

There are plans for a website, but I want it to be good. If you get together a nice series of shirts that you think people would buy, it's totally worth trying to get them printed, as long as you have an outlet to sell at. Going purely online is tough, because the market is just so saturated.

I started a baby/kids line with my wife last december. We sell here in my country (Philippines) and we've been doing quite ok. There are plans to print larger quantities. Check it out here: http://www.googooandgaga.com/
