I'm sure there's someone (in a remote jungle of the Amazon) who hasn't seen them. But not me. Point in fact if you haven't seen them you should because they are really good.

My girlfriend has just seen the first one (she saw it with me a couple of months a go)... the weird part is that she gets most of the star wars references thanks to the family guy episodes

No I think you're thinking of Michelle Pfeiffer, she was in an old Spiderman movie, so they're both sci-fi which is probably what is mixing you up.

I think I've seen them: it's the movies with the smart dude with malformed pointy ears and spaceship doors that go "shweeee!" when they open, right?
FRICKINAWESOME
   FRICKINAWESOME on Aug 30 '11 at 12:59am
Also, Star Wars, The Goonies, Labyrinth, The Neverending Stroy and The Princess Bride makes up about 95 percent of the movies I watched as a child.

I guess it depends on what you mean by "original," since they had the additional scenes and special effects added for the 20th anniversary rerelease and from then on, they were like the official versions of the movies, so if they ever played on TV you'd get those versions and then they added that bullshit like digital Hayden Christensen and the Han and Greedo shoot together compromise for the DVD release.

But then fans got pissy about that so they released the original originals on DVD, except the sound wasn't digitally remastered like it had been in the other versions so fans just got pissy about that. Poor George Lucas just can't win.

They come out on Blu-Ray in a couple of weeks, so you really better see them.

SJ - any idea if they're adding those BS digital Hayden scenes into our AU Blurays?

I've never watched any Star Wars, ever D:
SJ27
SJ27 on Aug 30 '11 at 3:51am
I don't know for sure, but the movies are not the "originals" and there are even more changes being made to the movies, so he'll probably stay. Yoda in the Phantom Menace was a puppet but has been replaced by a CGI version and Jabba the Hutt will also have a CGI makeover in Return of the Jedi to make his face more "expressive."

I swear when Ewan McGregor gets old enough, George Lucas is going to digitally replace Alec Guiness.

Even though it's a silly question, like-what are you 12 or something!.....

I haven't seen all of the original ones in their entirety as they were played a lot around Christmas time and I'd just watch different parts of them every year!

I saw there's a Christmas special which is supposed to be really bad on letmewatchthis.com

http://www.letmewatchthis.ch/watch-3862-The-Star-Wars-Holiday-Special

not watched it yet...

I haven't seen any. And I don't want to.

I can get away with saying that I've never watched them, but what if I actually see them and I don't like them? I think people would find that unforgivable...

Compared to the original trilogy, the new trilogy blows. I kinda liked Ep. III, though.
Also, I've got a slight rejection to cgi. There's no fun in making things extremely real. I prefer low budget puppets, scaled models, and home-made effects, as they get a lot more creative. All the great film-makers did far more interesting pieces when there weren't so many millions involved in their productions. There are exceptions, of course.

Never seen them. Watched a portion of one with my boyfriend. Yoda sounded like Grover. Googled it. Found out Yoda as Grover were the same dude. Had enough. Stopped watching.

I'm in the same boat as Abi, too. If I watch them and don't like them, that could be a problem.

I do, however, play Lego starwars with my boyfriend on the PS3. My prek students at school always talked about how much fun it is, and it was on sale for 9 bucks at the grocery store, so we picked it up. (The complete saga, you guys!!! The gr 3s were
Sooooo jealous). And it actually is quite a blast.

I had seen all of the originals by the time I was five. I got a cloud car for my 5th birthday; I was a big fan.

Not a fan of the craptastic Lucas updates.

Yeah...if you didn't see them as a kid you probably won't like them now. I was the same way with The Goonies, The Never Ending Story and a couple other 80s movies I didn't manage to watch at the time and only watched in adulthood.
