about Wolken
Allow me to start with how much I enjoy this shirt. I bought it a few weeks ago and really do love it, but my question is what is this supposed to be?

My english teacher, who seems to know quite a bit, says that this is a drug reference involving little red riding hood. This all made sense up until I considered the fox.

To me, it seemed pretty clearly related to some type of drug use, what with the smoke from the hand (trust me, that is not why I bought it). Just now I have taken another look at the page and saw that it was meant to be on a mint shirt.

The fact that it isnt supposed to be this color of green makes me doubt the drug reference idea even more. I thought the pea-ish green was obviously also a throw towards marajuana, but the whole mint thing disrupts that thought as well.

So can someone please tell me if this shirt is a large drug reference, or is that just how it came out looking?

Wolken is Dutch for clouds. It might be German as well, the languages are quite closely related. I only bring that up because the artist has a German website (.de) and wrote the description in German, which would probably let us know a bit, but I'm not good enough to translate it. Something about the wind blowing around the nose? I'm making this sound more and more like a drug reference aren't I? But I think it's just about seeing images in the shapes of the clouds on a particularly windy day.

Perhaps your english teacher could exercise her/his imagination a little? I don't see any drug reference here whatsoever- it's a fairy tale character in a dreamy, surreal landscape, to me. Also I would say Little Red Riding Hood is mostly defined by either red in some way and/or a wolf, not just a hood and a small furry creature, and I don't think the colour green is in itself a symbol of illcit plants, it is, at times, simply a colour, and everything the person above me said about clouds seems informative. But also, people often read into things what they are looking for, and if you really like the image for whatever it means to you, than that is more important that someone else seeing a vague reference to something that probably isn't even there. And lastly- your english teacher may know a lot about a lot of things, but that doesn't mean you should take everything they say as the absolute authority on every possibly subject. Perhaps you could use your own judgement to evaluate opinions and gather more information, which actually you've already shown you do when you questioned what your teacher had said. So yeah, I'm rambling...Sorry for the long spiel and hopefully some of it may be useful as an extra opinion on the matter.

My 2 cents worth :)
