I'm not sure if this has been started somewhere else or if this is the first.

What I want to know is, what makes a really great tee?

What are the things you should be thinking about when voting?

- aesthetics
- the placement
- the colours
-the message
- the design
... etc

I'm asking this because some designs that should get printed don't and some get printed that i wouldn't wear.
eg. a design that I think should be printed you've been out creeped
and one that i wouldn't wear that has been printed Up the down escalator (not that its bad, its just not something i'd wear)

If I like it and want to wear it.

There's a lot of stuff that gets printed that I wouldn't wear.

I respond to such by not buying it.

And the circle of consumerism rolls on.

And I only mark $5 on stuff I plan to buy.

if you put 20 in dex you can design all kinds of crazy shit.

What a $5 tee really needs is a hero. It's gotta be fast and it's gotta be strong and it's gotta be fresh from the fight.

Unregulated child laborers?

Oh, you mean a score of five and "I'd buy".

Personally, I put a 5 for designs...

a) that look great on the shirt

b) that are well executed

c) that may or not have a great concept

I then put a $ sign if..

a) I'd buy it myself

As for those 2 examples you mentioned. I think they're both great but the first one just seems to have been done before. I think it's a staple Threadless style. The 2nd is just totally fresh. The funny thing is, I don't think Threadless would've printed the escalator a year ago and would've printed the cute monster instead.

I agree with the110.

Print Tees are just like any other form of fashion - what's "fresh" changes all the time.

I predict next year the tees themselves will have huge flared sleeves - great for extra graf!

I'm not trying to bag out any tee. i think every threadless does is interesting and great. what i'm looking for is "what things should you look for in a great tee when voting?"

My gallery photos

I haven't submitted any photos. I guess I don't want free money.

All about me

i've always wanted to do t-shirt designs. My preferred style of expressing myself is photography mainly black and white film images. I enjoy being involved in the entire creative process, including darkroom work. It seems, however, with the general shift to digital and my environmental concerns, I am producing less and less work…so i've started using photoshop.
