The Anniversary of the Birth of this Fine Nation is upon us my friends. And this year we have to face the reality The United States of America is in turmoil. We are fighting ourselves and we are fighting nearly everyone else in the world. We are in serious trouble.

As you all reflect on our nation's short history, what do you see as being the biggest problems facing the well being of The United States of America?

As you identify what you see as troublesome for our country, come up with questions based on these troubles. I will pick the top three questions and the winners will be rewarded.

Winners will be announced around 2 pm cst.

You have until 1 pm cst to submit questions.

Ready, go!.

Those who question authority are the most patriotic.

The U.S. seems to be in a lot of trouble currently...

Where do you think our government will head within the next decade, for better or worse? Can we get out of our position?

and...

Do you think the U.S. will become more aware of global warming and do something about it? Or will we always be stuck on fossil fuels?

In a country where the political system is based on conflict, where elections are more about pointing fingers, where obstruction is the standard. What can be done to bring together red and blue to stand unified as a country as we did in times past?

Thinking on America, the biggest issue facing our nation is leadership. I'm not going to bash one president or another, I'm just saying great countries in history are marked by great leaders.

How can we truly change the mindset of the leadership in our country to step away from self-serving idealogy and truly be a leader of the people, for the people, and by the people?

Why is it, though historians have learned that countries, namely America, imposing their style of government onto other, less-developed, countries does not work because of differentiating values, morals, customs, and cultures, why have we not learned from our mistakes, why are we forcing other to take after us, why does America take it upon itself to be the international police force?

given the nature of politics in general, do you think it will ever be possible for a real change in the kind of person who is ever elected? Is it a real issue that the only people who have a serious shot at mounting an enduring political campaign are the same people who have no reason to care about most of the issues they are campaigning for?

DOES NO ONE CARE THAT A DEMOCRATIC ELECTION HAS ONLY ONE MORE OPTION THAN A DICTATORSHIP?
common people are sick of the democratic/republican/liberal/conservative/rightwing/leftwing arguements. people just want a leadership they can trust. they don't care the label.people are tired of being labelled. the only good party to follow is common sense and fairness.
i've never thought a country should be under the rule of the word of one man. when in history has that worked for very long? we have been taught that communism is bad because bad men warped it. true communism would have no one dictator or leader. while i'm not for communism either, i think we need to look beyond this mentality of being led by some magical father figure.

Why are our main political parties so polarized? Do we lack any common goals?

Everyone is so anti-republican or anti-democrat that we seem to have lost sight of what we expect to accomplish with our form of government.

Blaming one party or the other is the easy and lazy way out. We will gain no ground until we learn how to work together.

we are about the only country that totally ignores, mocks, and pushes aside our elderly.
in this way, we know nothing of the lessons of history, and do not grasp the true cycle of human life. we all think we are going to live forever and nothing can stop us.

adopt an old person today and talk to them.
you'll be old one day too.

not so much a question, as a random thought.

suffice to say. i believe all of america's problems stem from our "INVINCIBLE ME ME ME" mentality.
we need a good dose of grim reality. 911 did that, for like, a month.
god forgive me, i think we need a big disaster to sort things out, and get us back to the basics
