I finally want to take the plunge and start drawing with a Wacom-like tool. What would you all recommend as a good starter? I am thinking of a 4"x 6" or 8" x 10" format for the pad....thanks for the help!

If you're just looking for that side and need a starter tablet I'd recommend either a Wacom Bamboo or a Wacom Graphire 3. Both are very affordable and great for somebody just starting. :)

I have the 6x8. Works great and that size is fine for me. Might eventutally get the Cintique or the version you draw on the screen. But for now I'm good.

6 x 8 intous 1 is what i have and i love it. If your computer has a serial port, you can pick one up for cheap on ebay. I wouldn't recommend the four by six one. You will just want a bigger one later.
