like me, it looks like your style has evolved to fit the threadless taste a little more than the earlier work...(not that our outside work has changed, of course)
my honest critique: drop the window. it's not drawn as well/bold as the rest.
i'm finding less is more lately..the bird and phone are busy and important enough on their own. as much as the darkest blue/grey is a good third color, it kinda flattens everything. you think it would make the yellow pop, right?

Well at first I thought the bird was saying profanities (swearing) into the phone. Then I realized that it was coming from the phone. Then I realized that it was music stuff and not your average cartoon *$#!@! So I guess I'd move the music note (that the bird is saying) to the left side. And make it a little more clearer that the top part is coming from the phone (maybe lengthen the lightning bolt thing that goes to the phone?). Also, is he pissed? That's what his eyebrow tells me. But if he was pissed you'd think there'd be a ! after the music note. Otherwise I like the style.

I agree with Travis, also i would keep away from the brown shirt on the submission as it makes the other colours seem somewhat harsh in comparison.

oh, i didn't even look at the sub page, i just looked at the profile pic. but i agree.

mmm ya, the brown shirt looked great, until i put it beside the beautiful subdued colours of the blue vers.

I think i'll probably redo everything from scratch except for the main focus - the bird and the phone.

i lied. the new version is coming as soon as they put up the next batch. IF they let it go through. typically resubmissions are frowned upon, so i hope the threadless stafferoo decide to be nice.

i actually really like the window in the background....it makes it more of a scene instead of just the bird character.

i would just make it more clear that the song note is comign from the bird, and the swears are comign from the phone.

I'd actually just like a happy or confused bird asking into the telephone and no one on the other line. I too, like the window, tis good.

I've been looking at this design for a few days now and I just noticed that it's the person on the phone swearing and not the bird. I am painfully unobservant.

I am not so fond of the window as it is now, but I do like the scene it creates. Perhaps it deserves a redraw or maybe you could use a lighter color for the lines to make the bird and phone stand out more against it. I only count three colors, maybe use one more for the sake of a subtle background?

in the remake i got rid of the background. it looks better, as travis so astutely presumed.
