done? i'll just go with two options i think.

anymore title suggestions?

thanks for the suggestions! :)

my friend had this idea about a week ago and we've been collaborating on it. But, just to be sure i'd just like to ask if this idea has been done already. The idea is famous characters who are good friends. Hence, the title BFF. It's still far from being done.

thanks!
This is the second collaboration between me and the awesome Recycledwax!

Rise of the undead - Threadless T-shirts, Nude No More

If you're interested, this is a little look at the process of our collab!

"rise of the undead" started when Max contacted me wanting to do a zombie themed design. And luckily enough I happen to have a zombie themed idea which has been sitting unfinished in my hard drive.

Initial sketch was done by me, I know it sucks...lol.

I sent my initial sketch to Max and this is what he came up with...it's awesome!

I then started the digital linework and made some changes to the person holding the gun and some of the zombies.

Max started coloring...

and some more...with some color changes...

we decided to go with these colors...and it's finally done!

some shirt mockups!

We're really happy with how this turned out...and we hope you guys like it!

death by cigarettes - Threadless T-shirts, Nude No More

the design is made from two packs of cigarettes, although i only used a few cigarette butts. Didn't really smoke any of them (i quit smoking about 5 years ago), i just let it finish by itself and collected the ash.

added some paper cutouts to form the eyes and nose. dropped some cigarette ashes to form the outline of the skull.

The skull seemed a bit off at this point so had to tweak it a bit.

Moved the nose and teeth up a bit.

changed the background to black to make it fit the shirt color. A bit of editing in photoshop and voila! It's done!

it's up for scoring...please vote and comment :)

in the dark - Threadless T-shirts, Nude No More

Anyway, I just wanted to share our collab process and show how we ended up with our design, a la FRICKINAWESOME :)

I've had this idea for over a year now, after a year long sabbatical from threadless, I started designing again this year. The idea was inspired by a childhood prank. The flashlight under the chin to make yourself look scary. I just thought, what if the person with the flashlight actually had monsters behind him?

This is the first draft I made a year ago...i know it's crap! lol...i lost interest and it was collecting dust in my hard drive ever since then.

A month ago I was pondering on what design to do next, and I remembered this idea. I started to do this myself but I was uninspired and being lazy. So I thought, why not start a collab? and who better to do monsters than Max! I emailed him about a month ago and he was kind enough to reply right away and accept my proposal.

We got rolling right away and we decided that I start with the design by drawing a sketch of the boy and he'll take it from there. This is what I came up with.

From there Max worked his magic and added the monsters behind the boy. He did an amazing job with his sketch! I was thinking at first that the monsters should look scary, but max had a different idea. He made the monsters look scared! Which i think was great and added to the cuteness of the design.
March 6

After receiving the sketch above I started with the inking in photoshop.
March 7

The outlines were too thin for Max to work with so I had to redo inking. It was a good coincidence that gave me a chance to change some stuff on his initial sketch that I felt didn't fit, like the books and added some small details.
March 11

After only a few days Max was able to finish coloring and it turned out awesome! better than I've ever imagined. The colors were spot on and I was really pleased with how it turned out.
March 13

Just some minor changes and it's done! I didn't really have an idea what to name this and Max suggested "in the dark" and i was sold!
March 14

It was really cool going back and forth, seeing how it progressed and how our styles mixed together.
The collab went great and we're really happy with the end result. I hope you guys like it too!
