What is the deal with all the spammers? I see a lot of people posting links to their designs in the comments lately and I thought that was against Threadless policy.

I don't know but it's very annoying...
I remember myself, posting on threadless for the first time last year... I saw many people doing it, so I did too! I think FreakingAwesome warn me about it and I thank him for that!
Maybe Threadless should put a "Theadtiquette" link on the top of the page or when people subscribe?

Also I think it would help if they made it easier to score people's subs from the comments. If there was a link next to their comment that led directly to their design page or latest design, people might not spam as much.

why would that make less spam?

Yeah, that would be a nice way to do it!

People would not post link to there design, saying, "Take a look at mine!"

@biotwist, because people would not need to post a link to their designs if there was automatically a link near their comment, it would be completely redundant to do so.

you would only need one click...granted. but you only need two, max. three clicks right now to achieve the same thing. so I don't think that's the problem....

@sausage_moe I think the problem is that those spammers don't realize a vote is only 3 clicks away. If there was a link that specifically said "Vote Back" or something like that, they would be less inclined to post the same link in a comment.

a little icon next to people's names to show that they had a sub up wouldn't be bad, but yeah, i hate spam comments.

but "voting back" is not how this is supposed to work anyways. of course I appreciate it, if you help me and/or score my design high and it usually means I will vote kindly on yours, but after all my vote is still based on the quality of your design....

yea i've seen it a lot lately as well! but people don't know unless told really. someone told me it's all good to do it in the critiques section (if your actually offering good advice. not just 'yea sub! check mine! yea!), but not in the submissions secton. is that right?

yes @matt_attack thats right. its just kinda how the unwritten policy is here.

people don't know unless told really

But everyone knows you don't do that anywhere else on the interwebs, right?
The prospect of $$$$$ is making people crazy, that's what.

It's tolerated in the critiques, and I think it was a pretty bad idea in the first place: it just killed the critiques and leaked spam all around.

Besides, it's just total pointless.
