I'm interested in knowing what type of music (or specific bands, musicians, etc) that you listen to when you create art.

Lately I've been listening to a lot of Mike Patton bands; Mr. Bungle, Fantomas, Tomahawk, and Faith No More. I also have been listening to some Enya, The Airborne Toxic Event, and Gorgoroth.

(Oh and if you would be so kind... Tongue Tied )

Enya may hurt your art.

I've been really into soundtracks lately.

I really like Enya, though I tend to have my mp3 player on shuffle while I'm working since I kinda zone out and don't pay attention too much to what's around me.

Lately, my art making music has been mostly really layered electronica-related music without much emphasis on lyrics. Its good for zoning out and focusing on art.

Dosh, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Animal Collective, DJ Shadow are a few.

BlameTheSuburbs: Doom metal is very good (a little too good) and making you drone out. Esoteric is more on the ambient side.

It's funny how much the style of music effects your art.

Yeah, I have a friend who is really into doom metal. I just can't relate to any music genre with the word "metal" in it unfortunately.

BlameTheSuburbs: Yes, I completely understand how some people don't like it. It's not for everyone.

Hmm, I don't particularly draw but I do have songs I like to write to. Some instrumental/electronic stuff (really dig I Am Robot and Proud's "Neil Lake"). And:

Iron & Wine - Fever Dream

And all kinds of Elliott Smith, e.g.

sometimes I put on Pandora radio. Otherwise I make playlists and will cycle through them depending on my mood.
